“Not geared to Seniors”

When we arrived the check in Clerk was courteous. We were informed there were no ground floor rooms, non smoking and single queen size bed. There was no elevator either. We are Seniors and the two flights of stairs with our luggage was a challenge. We were offered no help with our bags nor no options to upgrade to a different type of room on the ground floor at a higher cost. I asked about options but did not receive a satisfactory reply. In future we will add to our specification either an elevator or ground floor room. I don't think the hotel was all that busy that night. The parking area had cars in it but maybe 25% were occupied and early the next morning there was plenty of empty spaces near all of the ground floor rooms. Disappointing somewhat and to boot the coffee maker in the room did not work properly. We reported that.

1. After a hike, I looked forward to a nice warm shower. The water pressure was wimpy- I believe it had more to do with the showerhead size or type. The worst part was the sudden drastic change of temperature several times - from cold to hot - to hot to ice cold. This occurred even when I did not adjust the faucet. There was noise from the pipes - sounded like someone knocking on the wall. . 2. The temperature could only be controlled from the thermostat. This alone was not a problem but heat was blasting from below the curtains right at the spot where you would sit in the chair with the foot rest. It was uncomfortable and there was no option of re-directing the air flow or reducing the speed of the fan. The curtain was blowing all over my head as I tried to sit in the chair. The only other solution was turning the heat down or off and being uncomfortably cold. These issues were reported to the front desk clerk and he seemed genuinely concerned and took notes This motel is called BestWestern on the Hill. For some reason I was expecting some nice scenery. It is very plain and older, with an outside entry to the room. Very little appeal.
