"Cosy comfort in a great location"
My husband and I spent 6 nights at Hotel Edelweiss, using it as a base to tour Geneva as well as to take some train trips to other nearby cities. I cannot imagine a better location for someone who likes to walk to sights. The train station was perhaps a 10 or 15 minute walk away, the lakefront was even closer, and old town was maybe 30 minutes away. The hotel also gave us a free transit pass (something I believe is standard for hotels in Geneva), and that turned out to be very handy for the few longer city trips we wanted to undertake. (Transit in Geneva is great!) There are many restaurants very close to the hotel, not only ones serving Swiss food, but also Indian and Middle Eastern places. The hotel itself has an intriguing-sounding Swiss restaurant, with live music, that we, unfortunately, did not have a chance to try. Across the small square, there is a Co-op grocery store (very useful for snacks and water), as well as a Migros take-away. Our room was large, comfortable and clean. There was a coffee machine, which we used, and the coffee was replenished daily. The bathroom included a shower (no tub), and all the facilities were very clean. Breakfast was available at extra cost; as we did not partake, I cannot comment on its quality. Room prices in Geneva are high, but within that context, Hotel Edelweiss provides good quality for a relatively reasonable cost. The staff were pleasant and helpful, including providing us with an adapter plug for recharging our phone.
