“Great for total R&R in Geneva”
Good location, quiet, near UN and Red Cross offices, free use of local transport takes you from the nearby bus stop to every where in Geneva. Pleasant and professional staff, clean and modern facilities, nice swimming pool for summer visitors, small but nice/clean gym.
“Great luxury hotel”
This is a great luxury hotel. Represents the best of the Swiss hospitality.
“Lacks basic services”
I take things like the "Convenience of the hotel location" for granted. After all, I would have normall chosen the hotel with that in mind. Ditto the "Cleanliness of your room" for a 4-5* hotel. What is REALLY annoying to me is the absence of two services which I consider essential in our day and age: In-room WiFi and coffee/tea. It is simply not acceptable today with the proliferation of wireless devices for a hotel to have only cable internet connection in the room - or else you need to go sit in the lobby for the WiFi. Coffee/tea is also an important service. Having to dial Room Service and wait 20 minutes for a cup of coffee and dealing with high prices, service charges and waiters who look at you askingly for a tip -- all that for a cup of coffee -- is not acceptable.
“Not Impressed”
Good - beautiful, new, French minimalist design. Bad - I couldn't believe that a hotel with these high room rates still charges for an Internet connection. Ugly - In a rather posh main restaurant called "Woods", the waitstaff looked as if they had slept in the ill-fitting suits and were wearing scuffed up, old shoes. When I asked for a glass if wine, the waiter brought me a portfolio of "wines of the world" with only full bottles listed, some as high as $4,000! When I asked for the "by-the-glass" wine list, he hesitated as if he didn't have one and then asked if I wanted white or red, and from Italy, France or Geneva. I should have insisted on a listing, but I just said "France." He served me a decent cabernet, and when I got the bill, I learned that my glass of ubiquitous French red was $22! My total bill for a modest meal was $90. With minor user-friendly fixes, this could be a better hotel. However, beware of the cost. I have stayed in better hotels for much less.
“hotel tres bien rénové”

Area:
Petit-Saconnex, Geneva, Switzerland: Once a wooded hamlet closer to France than Geneva, this suburb is now a smart residential and consular zone. The area's main attractions include the Palais des Nations (headquarters of the United Nations) and the Musee Ariana, which houses an impressive collection of glass and ceramics. A favourite restaurant among locals is Café du Soleil, on the main square.
