Decent pet friendly hotel

Posted 10-Jan-2015
Pros: The location is close to the park entrance, so it is convenient to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The room had balcony and river view.
Cons: Update the beds and bedding. They are very uncomfortable.
Location: The location is on the end of the parkway where it turns into the national park and convenient to Gatlinburg.
Stayed here with family for a 5 day vacation. The hotel seems older and has quite a bit of wear and tear. The rates were reasonable and they are pet friendly, which was nice. The hallways did have slight smell of smoke, probably coming from the smoking rooms. Not too bad though. I did not notice any smalls inside the room, which was non smoking. Be aware that you cannot leave your pets unattended in the rooms at any time, even when crated or they will charge a fee. There was a nice jetted tub in the room. The water was nice and hot, but the jets were not working. The beds were uncomfortable, with thin, worn sheets and only two flat, small pillows. The front desk would not give us any extra bedding or pillows for the room.

No way to tell if a dog has stayed in your room

Posted 6-Jan-2015
Cons: Have designated pet rooms.
Location: The hotel is at the very beginning of Pigeon Forge if you arriving from Gatllinburg.
Upon arrival, the hotel looked abandoned; however, you can't really tell what section of the hotel that you are staying in until checking in. We stayed in a newer section of the hotel, but still in need of some renovations. I and my son are allergic to dogs and I didn't realize that pets could stay in ALL the rooms until I overheard the person in front of me talking about the pets in her room. Unfortunately, the desk clerk said that USUALLY dogs stay on the 2nd floor and our room was on the 1st floor. As we were walking to our room, I see a dog entering a 1st floor room. Our room was clean. The faucet was really loose, but it was clean. I was uneasy the whole time because of the possibility of the animal being in our room before. Had I been able to cancel the hotel, I would have moved to another location. I like dogs, just not in my room. So, if this doesn't bother you then the hotel would work if you just want a place to lay your head. The room was clean, but in need of some repairs. The inside pool room had built up so much moisture on the ceiling that it continuously dropped on us while watching the kids swim.

O.K. stay for a weekend getaway.

Hotel was ok with exception of the "fireplace" in the room didn't work and the front of the phone in room was not on it. Other than that it was a nice hotel convenient to Gatlinburg on the edge of Pigeon Forge.

It's a nice hotel but....

Posted 5-Jan-2015
The room it self was clean but our jacuzzi tub was broken. The water fall on the tub was broke and the cold water handle was broken. And the shower needed to be cleaned a little better. The pool was nice and warm but the water looked dirty.

Pros: nothing
Cons: everything starting with the rock hard beds
this hotel is not worth the experience the floors were filthy the carpet was filthy and threadbare handles fell off doors to pool and outside doors were never locked we ran out of linens and had to wait till after 5 pm when they went to pick up towels and sheets way overpriced for quality never will stay there again

Actually, we didn't stay

Pros: The woman at the front desk.
Cons: see my comments above.
Location: see my comments above.
Family of four, with a small dog. After walking into the room, we saw several things that made us walk out, knowing it was a busy time and hard to find a place to stay. I went to the desk and asked for a refund. The woman at the front desk was really nice and very understanding. She should be at a much nicer place. The location for this motel is great and they appear to have plenty of property. If I was a rich man...I'd buy it, level it and build a resort.

Will absolutely never go back

We got there and a guy was asking the clerk about some boots he lost and the clerk said that she took them home with her because if the staff had found them they would have taken them. She told me that the housekeeping takes things from rooms. The carpet was duck taped down, the rooms/hotel smelled awful, there was a dog barking constantly across the hall, we were there 3 days and didn't get any clean towels or linens, the sheets didn't fit the beds, asked for extra pillows and were told no, our hot tub controls didn't work and had no plug for the drain and the pool was green and full of trash.
