Pros: Indoor pool

Great location but disappointing service

Pros: The location was great. Parking was easy, price was affordable
Location: We liked that it was in Pigeon Forge but easy to get to Gatlinburg
We enjoyed our stay overall, but were disappointed that they jacuzzi tub was in the actual room. Breakfast is very simple but wasn't open on the time it said it was open. (It said open at 8 am, we went at 8:30 and the doors were still locked.)

Disappointing

Pros: A couple of the staff members.
My son in law had just got back from Afghanistan and we had a vacation planned. Not only did we not get the room we were supposed to get but the room we did get was BAD! The heater was so loud it woke us up EVERY time it came on and then to make it even worse during our stay there was a fire evacuation and believe it or not during the evacuation there were no staff members to be found! To top it off the next morning not only did the staff not offer any explanation they acted as if they didn't even know it happened. Needless to say after staying here for years we WILL NOT BE BACK!

We booked a room here through hotels.com and when we got there, they had no clue who we are. Either hotels.com screwed up or the smoky shadows motel didn't accept reservation. We still got a room, but such a hassle after a 20 hour drive. We also had a small dog with us, which we got harassed about. We told them the breed and size at check in but acted like we were liars later. If you have any dog at all, just go to motel 6.

Good location, that is pretty much it

The room was clean and decently maintained. The location of this motel is also convenient . Vacancy was available though I booked at the last minute. The toilet however did not work when we checked in (the flush tank did not refill in a reasonable time). I had to call the front desk twice before they sent someone to fix it. Although staff was courteous and polite, generally speaking, they do not have a clue what hospitality service means. The breakfast was sub-standard, but they do not advertise it either, so it is your choice to eat it. A good candidate for 'Hotel impossible", since they have a lot of potential for improvement and to stay in business for a long time, because of the location,

this motel was not anything like the picture... very dated pictures! they couldn't find any reservations and we waited 2 hours to check in!

Most horrible place stayed ever...

Pros: Location. It is right next to the river so if weather is nice and you can spend few minutes on the terrace, it is very beautiful and pleasant view.
Cons: everything except the location...
Location: there is a lot to do in this area... location is perfect but the hotel is terrible. so look for something next to it..
Hotel was more than 90 percent empty but the manager still gave me the room that had horrible smell in there and told me that is the only room left. Breakfast room had orange juice that was may be a month old. Carpet in the room was dirty, lamp shades are broken, bathroom was not cleaned properly either. On the side note, I believe this hotel is going through change of ownership where the new owner has not acquired the responsibilities yet, and the current owner does not wish to spend a dime in this hotel any more for any given reason.
