“Great place, great value.”

Typically when we heads to the Smoky's we get a cabin. But this was just a long weekend, and we were trying to keep it inexpensive. So we choose Oak Square. It has a little galley kitchen so we could do most of our own cooking instead of eating out the entire time (plus, we're vegetarian, and Gatlinburg isn't the most veggie friendly town around). This little condo was perfect. More room than a hotel room, and a kitchen to prepare rooms. We took advantage of the outside hot tub, and the indoor pool (in fact, even though it was March, we actually jumped in the outdoor pool the first day because the weather was unseasonably warm. But it was COLD)! We were the only ones I saw use the hot tub the whole weekend. It's right in Gatlinburg so you can walk to everything. And we were able to do a nice run on the little wooded trail to the visitor's center--straight from the condo.

“Excellent location for shopping and dining”

I really liked this hotel. It is in an excellent location. Although it is an older hotel it was clean and had everything we wanted. My wife and I had a room with a King bed, kitchen, living room with a 2nd TV, coach, & firplace, and a balcony over the pool. We parked our car and walked to everything we needed. It was quite, clean, comfortable, and convenient. I will stay there anytime I am in town.

“Wonderful location”

This condo was very a very close walk to the main strip. It was very clean and had a nice indoor pool with a kiddie pool.

“Good Location”

Hotel was in a good location, but the rooms must not have been insulated very well. There was too much noise from outside and from other nearby rooms. Not the perfect choice for R&R, but other than that it was OK. I will probably return because of the location.

“Planning the next trip!”

The hotel is older, but clean. The elevator is slow. Expecting a queen bed but got a king. Room was adequate for a weekend trip. Hotel is convenient to everything, but away from the crowd. The pools were cold, but I didn't go there to swim. I am already planning my next trip.

“Good deal”

We enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and nice. It had a living room area and a bedroom with a small kitchen in between. The balcony was off the bedroom and faced the pool. It was a little small, but not bad for the price. The location was great! We walked to everything. The only down-side was that the balcony wasn't very private. It faced all the other balconies.

“These are condos and you can get a bad one or a good one...”

The first of three nites was terrible. The condo we were put in was awful. The air vents had visible mold, the carpet was the dirtiest carpet I had ever seen and the bed was akin to the floor. The second day, when my allergies were reactive to the mold, I complained to management and was put into another condo that was one of the nicest condos I have seen. The second condo had wood and tile floors and the bed was very comfortable. If you stay here, its potluck because all condos are individually owned and appointed. I would request to see the room before agreeing to stay in it.

“Would return again!”

The staff was excellent there, Very friendly and helpful with everything. The prices were very reasonable and the room was nice. The only thing that wasn't great was the outside pool. The filter system stopped working the day we got there, so the pool water wasn't crystal clear. The spa was great and the inside pool was perfect! We would recommend this hotel to everyone and would stay there again on our next visit.

“Only a few inconveniences.”

The room was very clean and wonderful for a couple. I do not recommend the Unit A rooms if you have children. Unit B or C rooms are the larger and would be great if you travel with children. The kitchen was nice and included a full size refrigerator. The property is a one block uphill walk from the main strip. The rooms have fireplaces but are not gas operated so take fire logs with you. The hotel has no internet access for guests. The city of Gatlinburg has public pay-per-access internet but the hotel is not within wifi reach of that service. The four days I was there I was not able to find any wifi I could access from the hotel. The staff was very friendly and I do recommend this hotel. The wifi situation was the only downside.

“clean and quiet”

Our queen suite was very clean. The shower/tub was old so couldn't give the kids baths since the drain would not plug. The first night our air conditioner unit was very noisy but once we bumped up the temp (still comfortable) it was not too noisy. It was very quiet and had plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 kids. My kids loved the kiddie pool. I would go there again. We also got buy 2 nights, get one free so the price was right.
