“Good...ish”

Checked into the hotel but, despite booking 2 nights last December for the following August, were told that we only had one night in the room we checked into and the we had to change rooms for the second night. Don't know why and the second room was not as nice as the firs and it was a tad annoyingt!! Best avoid the restaurant. Pricey and very pretentious and the menu is , frankly, a little wierd (e.g. Bull steak with chocolate sauce and peaches, which didn't really work for me!!) Everything else very good

“Winter warmer”

Classy hotel in quiet part of town with good facilities - swimming pool and hamman especially welcome for a winter stay as they offer entertainment for that usually dead early evening time. Friendly helpful staff (yes I know this is France and I mean what I say despite what anyone else says) Lovely old building with good ambience and plenty of modern facilities - basement garage was handy in the light of the wet weather - can't comment on food, drink or service as we didn't eat in the restaurant. Judging some of the other hotels by the faded exteriors we made the right choice for a winter weekend - I suspect that the hotel won't be such good value for money in the height of season but it was well worth it for a nice November break
