"The Galvestonian - 08/30-09/02"
We recently went to Galveston and were so impressed, that we came back a few weeks later. This trip however, we stayed at the #1 hotel per tripadvisor and that's the Galvestonian. It's a condo resort community. The community exists on the east side of the island, which translates to drive through the whole strip and keep driving, it's down on the right. It's not a bad thing though! I loved the fact that this community is directly off of the east beach and it's less crowded where they are located. The resort has a pool area that is very nice and there are showers available whenever you come off of the beach back to the pool (to get rid of any pesky sand - yay!). The resort served watermelon prior to noon to guests at the pool on the weekend that we stayed. There are areas for cookouts (i.e. there is a covered patio to the side of the pool, there are bbq pits walking down from the pool to the beach with tables and chairs) and they provide donut holes, fruit and coffee from 7 to I think 10 am on weekends. The room (or at least ours) opens up with a bathroom directly as the first door (ours was to the left), then a full working kitchen (with everything you need - dishwashing liquid, coffee filters, silverware, pots/pans, dishes, etc), a den with a pull out couch and a bedroom. The patio overlooks the pool and the beach. Each morning we woke to waves crashing and a beautiful sunrise. I would recommend staying at the Galvestonian and would definitely stay there again!

"Wonderful and helpful staff."
We stayed 2 nights and had fun watching the flow of people. Piano man was great. We had a lovely view which was excellent because my mom can't walk on the shore line like she used too. But each day was an excellent view to wake up to.

"Nice hotel six miles from cruise ship terminal"
Our room was huge! Comfy beds, nice balcony, breakfast has several choices. We were only there for a day before cruising but would love to go back for a long weekend.

"Great hotel"
We only stayed one night before our cruise, but from the time we got out of our car the staff was great. Our room was nice and clean. The hotel bar was enjoyable. If we'd have had more time we would have loved the large resort style pool.

"Great Experience"
We told the resort clerk while we were checking in that it was our anniversary. She immediately got us each a glass of campaign and upgraded us to the penthouse. During our stay everyone at the resort said hello, good morning, good afternoon and they all had a smile on their faces. Everything was clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend and return to that resort.

"Fun in the sun with my kids"
We took a short 3 night 4 day vacation before school started for the kids to have a little fun and I was very happy with my choice in this hotel. When we arrived we were on the third floor of the newer building so I did ask to change to a bottom floor balcony building and the front desk clerk changed us with no problem at all. They have a nice pool and mini golf for everyone and it was just a really pretty place.
