"Beautiful Hotel"
This was our first time in Texas and I was very pleased with the hotel. The hotel was beautiful and although some of the attractions were closed during our stay, we still had a wonderful time. My daughters enjoyed the rainforest, aquarium and pool the most. It is very close to the sea wall and the strand as well, so there is really a lot to do and the hotel is very family friendly. My only complaint would be that some of the hotel staff in the lobby were not very helpful. Being a first time visitor to Galveston, I wasn't familiar with some of the fun things to do in the surround area. Whenever we asked the staff members in the lobby if there were any other interesting things to do close by, the would respond with, "I don't know" or "that's a good question." it was a bit odd. Perhaps they need more training in that area. The waiters, waitresses, bartenders, and housekeeping staff were wonderful and super friendly! I will definitely stay at this hotel again, but not sure if I would depend on the lobby staff/desk clerks for help! Other than that, it's an awesome hotel!

"Great Hotel next to Port of Galveston"
We were looking for a nice hotel close to the Port. We flew in a day early on Friday for a Saturday cruise as we always do to make sure that we are there with no flight delays and are ready to board. This hotel definitely was a pleasure. It is in the historic district of Galveston and within a couple of blocks of the shopping in the district. The room was beautiful, clean and very comfortable. It is an old building that has all the hisoric and period charm mixed with the modern amenities. The staff was great. On Saturday morning the port was closed due to fog so we had to wait for the ship to come in and unload which didnt happen until 2 in the afternoon. It was pouring down rain. The front desk staff got us a complimentary shuttle to take us and our luggage to the port. It was a great experiance and we can't wait to go back. Oh yes the bed at the Tremont House was more comfortable than the one on the boat.

"Very nice hotel, great view of the beach"
The hotel was great -- wonderful view of the pool and beach. The hotel itself was quiet when we were there -- only excess noise was from traffic, when sitting on the balcony, but inside the room was quiet. No coffee in the room, but it was available in the lobby with a continental breakfast. Breakfast could be enjoyed inside, with a view of the beach! Nice. Cookies and milk available in the evening. I would definitely stay there again. Another plus -- the hotel is on a corner, with one of the few crossing signals, to safely make it across several lanes of traffic, to the beach. Away from crossings, you are taking a risk as there is no median, just a center turn lane.

"only good thing was that it was on the beach"
had to pre pay for all of the days and could not get any refund if we had to shorten our stay.. tv remote would not work correctly, no morning coffee, cord on microwave was too short to plug in uinless you wanted to put it on the floor. exit gates were locked at night and if there had been a fire you could not get out, parking was lousy.
