“Nice location”

Located on the Galveston Seawall, this old hotel is actually built on a pier that extends out over the Gulf. Because of this, the Flagship offers a beautiful view of the ocean and marine life; we actually watched a school of dolphin playing nearby. Beach access is convenient and there is also excellent fishing from the pier, with a 24-hour rod & bait shop. Also, the Flagship is conveniently located for shopping, dining, and sightseeing. The building is old (built in 1965) and, though renovated about 8 years ago, definitely shows its age, especially the creaky elevators. The service was inconsistent, but the rooms were clean and comfortable. The place has a lot of character and I would definitely recommend the Flagship for the georgeous view and beach access.

“Not Too Impressed”

Before we checked in we were thinking, "Wow, a hotel over the ocean! It must be nice." After we checked in and rode the scary elevator to our floor, and got to our freezing room, our view of the place changed. The outside of the hotel looks "fancy", but the inside does not. We were not impressed at all.
