Nice Hotel great location!

Pros: location and breakfast
Cons: shuttle could be free!
Location: Lots of nearby restaurants bars and places to sit and people watch. Right on the seawall with many cars out cruisin by!
We stayed in Galveston prior to a Cruise. I wanted something fairly close to the port but on the beach with a good view. I got it. Our room balcony looked out toward the Gulf of Mexico with wonderful views of the Galveston Pleasure Pier, which is really nice at night!. The room was clean and comfortable and there was many restaurants and bars near by as well the beach right across the street. We walked a couple of blocks to a bike rental place and rented one to ride around the area. My husband has limited walking ability so this was just perfect. Breakfast had wonderful fresh make yourself waffles , eggs and sausage, cereals and sweet buns. Something for everyone and they had a shuttle to the port for $10.00 pp. There was a convenience store near by for any needs too! I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Pros: Room was clean. Nothing else
Cons: Maybe some staff, other than front desk, that speaks English? Tear it down and start over? have Chick-fila train the staff on how to be friendly?
Location: Better walk if you found a parking place the first time. You won't have parking when you get back. Not really close to anything except water
Checked in at 3pm. Long line and 1 person at desk. Restrooms locked. Had to get key that you can't get because there is only one person. Room was clean. Walls paper-thin. Noise from next door all evening/night. Kids running up and down hall. Called front desk for blanket around 5. They said I could come down and get one. They were too busy. Got there and three people standing and talking. They said they had a line to the door. Sure cleared that line quicker than the line I was in earlier. Parking lot SMALL. People double parked blocking others. Not a good neighborhood. Leave car while you cruise at your own risk! Shuttle was 40 min. late taking us. Driver was friendly and picked us up on time. Do NOT think, just because you are near the beach, that you can see it from room. View of old neighborhood and parking lot. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PLACE! I DID. LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE! Shuttle is NOT free. $20 per person roundtrip. Other hotels in area are free. Save your money and go ANYWHERE BUT HERE!!!!

at first, we thought it was a great hotel because of the view of the beach in pleasure pier.then the hotel staff never told us we were going to get credit card charged abd only explained there is no smoking and no pets. The three pool was closed until my hubby and many others complained, they opened it.the staff was rude except one. If offered a room for free i wouldn't do it.

Pleasant Hotel Needs Better Front Desk Staff

Pros: The lobby looks warm and inviting. The room and hallways were clean.
Cons: Front desk staff needs to take customer service training--and then use it when on duty.
Location: Hotel is located off Seawall Blvd and is within walking distance of the Pleasure Pier and the beach. There are many restaurants within a few blocks.
Our first encounter at check-in with the front desk clerk, Allen, was very abrupt. He rushed in from the back after a few minutes of our waiting at the counter, pulled out some sheets of instructions to guests, and quickly ran through a list of what we couldn't do, how much we would be charged if we disobeyed the rules, where we should be parked, and told us to sign here, initial here and there, and asked for our ID's. My husband pulled the sheets of paper together and said he was going to read them first before signing and initialing anything. There was no, "Welcome, where are y'all from?" He hardly gave us eye contact and never smiled. The hotel, itself, was neat and smelled clean. However, from our balcony, we overlooked a dilapidated house, its broken down back fence and overgrown weeds, and overflowing trash cans-- not even a partial view of the beach that I expected. We will not stay at this hotel again, if for no other reason than the unpleasant encounter with the front desk clerk, Allen. He was our first impression, and first impressions count!

Close to the beach, but had view of the ugly ally

We went two days after labor day because the rates were good. This hotel looks great on the outside and in the lobby, however, the rooms are not good. Our tub was clogged and took several minutes to drain, the breakfast was terrible, danishes were stale, coffee was cold (and we came early), eggs were runny, sausage not done. The A/C kept turning off after it reached 70. So we were back and forth turning the air on. This hotel is good for the rate we paid (off season), would not pay more for it. The trip was still great just a little disappointed in the room. Might stay here again, not sure.

Pros: The hotel was well maintained and the staff was very pleasant and efficient.
Cons: The bath tubs need some kind of anti-slip mat or tape, something. I mentioned this to the front desk and she said they are award of the problem.
Location: The hotel is only one block from Pleasure Pier. The Lone Star Flight Museum is close by as is the Schlitterbahn Water Park.
After our initial problem with the A/C (which was remedied by the front desk) our stay was most pleasant. The room was nice and the beds were not your standard hotel/motel beds. These were very comfortable. The breakfast was as good as you will get at a restaurant. It included scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, toast, cereals, different juices and potatoes. It was quite tasty. The charge for the room was extremely reasonable. We will definitely return.

Staff was good, beds smelled funny, room could've been much cleaner, wifi was terrible, breakfast was ok. Probably won't stay here again.

Easy to get to. On the sea wall.

Pros: The staff.
Cons: The pillows on a king bed and an extra blanket in the closet.
Friendly staff, helpful with directions, very clean room, close to the beach. Our only complaint was with the pillows - 3 regular size (not even queen size) pillows on a king size bed. Should have been king size or at least 4 pillows.
