Comfortable Stay

Posted 15-Jan-2015
Pros: Convenience to the ocean, amenities that include breakfast and free parking
Cons: Both weight machines were out of order but we had a workout on the treadmill and elliptical instead
Location: Across the street from the ocean and nearby Pleasure Pier
Nice hotel on Seawall Blvd, our room had view of ocean and nearby Pleasure Pier. Breakfast included scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, oatmeal, waffles, and a variety of breads and pastries, dry cereals, juices and hot beverages. Room was clean, staff was friendly, parking lot was well lit and clean. We will definitely stay here again.

One of the few hotels with an indoor pool.

Posted 12-Jan-2015
Hotel was fine I believe I got the unlucky room because the themostat was broken and wouldnt shut off so it got around 85 before I called the front desk. Now that brings me to another issue, the phone ear piece was broken and they couldnt hear us. I ended up going down stairs and asking if they had maintenance and she said no but she coild try to get someone there to fix the issues, I told her to wait but she decided to call anyways and I ended up having a maintenance man come and correct both the problems.

Great location

Posted 9-Jan-2015
Great location but the hotel is aged and near a bad neighborhood. One of the reasons we chose the hotel was for the free cruise terminal parking. The catch was you had to pay a per person shuttle fee to the terminal. If you have more than three in your party you would be safer and better served to park at the terminal and pay for parking. The hotel lot is not fenced and I was uncomfortable with our vehicle there overnight much less a week.

Good breakfast and friendly staff

Posted 4-Jan-2015
Pros: The staff and the hot breakfast
Liked the location and room very much. The hotel was not well sound-proofed so I could hear the neighbor's TV and children were playing with the fire alarms but it was winter break and it is more the fault of parenting then the hotel.

Pleasant hotel near beach and restaurants

Posted 31-Dec-2014
Pros: Location to beach and walking distance to a couple of good restaurants.
Cons: Fix weight machine in workout room. No channel guide in room for TV.
Location: You could almost say this property is on the seawall. Literally 1/4 block away. Good restaurants within walking distance and Pleasure Pier 2-3 blocks.
Went down to Galveston between Christmas and New Years to fish and just to get away and relax. Although it is winter time it is always nice to be near the water and be able to see and hear the surf. Hotel seems to be fairly new and maintained well. Indoor pool and spa was a bonus during the cold weather. The weight machine in the small workout room was broken, but two treadmills were working fine. Breakfast was nothing special, but good to get you going first thing in the morning. Overall a good experience and a great value.

Nice Hotel

Posted 22-Dec-2014
Cons: Could not get a bottle of water, only two vending machines and both were out.
Stayed overnight before the cruise. One of the few hotels that you can get an airport transport as well as transport from the cruise ship back to the airport for a fee. Hotel had very good complimentary breakfast in the morning- made my own waffle. Ten dollar fee to take us to the cruise ship. Had a room on the third floor with balcony overlooking the pier with the rides. Room was very clean and comfortable. Walked down to the Fish Tale for dinner. Great Location along the beach. Hotel staff could have been friendlier or at least smile once in awhile.

Great Staff & Location

Posted 22-Dec-2014
Pros: The Staff were very friendly and helpful. The location to Pleasure Pier is great.
Cons: The wall mounted tv should be able to swivel towards the chair so you do not have to sit on the bed to watch.
We made reservations for this hotel on Expedia after researching area hotels in Galveston. The Country Inn & Suites in Galveston is conveniently located within walking distance of Pleasure Pier and the sea wall. Upon arrival, we found a nice lobby and pleasant personnel. Our room was quite large with a comfortable king bed, a chair and ottoman, desk and small refrigerator. We discovered the wall mounted tv did not swivel to face the chair which required any television watching to be done on the bed. So we drove to the nearby sports bar to watch college football. Breakfast was adequate, and kept stocked and clean. The room was overflowing with people settling in waiting for a cruise shuttle, so we made a breakfast sandwich and checked out. We would recommend this hotel given the comfort of the room, location and friendly staff.
