Hotel gave us just what we needed

“Pleasantly Surprised”

After reading all the negative comments regarding the motels in Gallup, I was relieved to find a room which wasn't dirty or well-worn. And despite all the complaints about train noise in other comments, I left my window open and was unbothered. I arrived early and the check-in clerk had to wait a few minutes while my reservation information downloaded. (He said that the cloudy weather was impeding their satellite feed.) But he was cheerful and friendly so the wait went quickly. And he gave me a room assignment before the scheduled check-in time. I don't expect to visit Gallup in the near future, but if so, I would stay at the Travelodge Motel again.

“Thanksgiving Minication”

The only bummer was the pool/spa area was closed, there was a hair of bubbled wall paper, but other than that, it was clean, roomy, I honestly don't know what the other reviewers were complaining about! Even the cleaning ladies, we forgot to put out the door hanger, but they were really quiet, just checked if the deadbolt was latched, didn't knock and disturb us the way other hotels have.

“Nice, but need better wifi.”

We weren't able to enjoy the pool this time, but the staff and accommodations were wonderful. Our next biggest prequest would be to acquire better wifi connection. This is something several of our family use a lot, and it was disappointingly spotty and unreliable. Thank you, however, for the rollaway bed since 2 of our children were too big to share a bed anymore. Thank you for a lovely stay!

“Weighted doors slam all night”

The way the doors are weighted is not the best. Everytime someone goes out or in the doors "SLAM" making a good nights sleep in this hotel next to impossible. Also a drunken lover's quarrel in the middle of the night was not appreciated.

“nice place But.....”

if you are going to the motel just to sleep that is cool the rooms were really nice the breakfast was good but the pool had a lot to be desired it was really gross the frist day it looked black and the next day it didn't open until the evening they said for cleaning so when we go in there yea it looked cleaner so i got in and no it was really dirty i even got a bladder infection the next day for the ride home 5 hrs. away but the rooms were really nice just don't go in the water

“Ordinary cheap chain motel”

It was your basic no-frills chain motel. Nothing particularly thrilling about it, and nothing particularly sketchy about it.

“Very Disappointed”

We had booked only one night and arrived at midnight. There was a mix-up in their paperwork. We had a confirmation from Expedia for a Deluxe King room. When we opened the door to our room we saw 2 Queens. I went back downstairs and asked to be changed. Had to go out to our car to get our paperwork to prove or arrangements. The man behind the desk acted put-out. We finally got a King room, but it was less than Deluxe. There were no elevators in the building, and no help was offered to get our heavy luggage upstairs. It was a hassle getting our room changed. Lower mattress had a large slash in it. Overall room was seedy and badly in need of a renovation. Signs were visible stating that renovation had begun. When I asked if they were refurbishing all the rooms, I was told they were only getting new carpets in the hallways. There are no security locks (keycards) on the side entrance doors either, so anyone could just walk in at any time. Very disappointed and won't ever stay there again. We have had very good luck with Travelodge chain in the past and know they can be comfortable and clean.

“Nice if you like to sleep on a rock.”

The mattress in our room was hard as a rock. I felt like they had just a box spring and forgot to give us a mattress. The pool was closed for a broken heater. Not a comfortable stay. It may have been cheaper than other hotels around but it was not worth sacrificing comfort. Would not stay here again.

“Terrible- DO NOT STAY HERE!”

Hotel was terrible. Room was dirty, hair in the bathtub and on pillow cases. Beds were bowed in the middle. Window seal was broken- wouldn't even shut all of the way. When we were checking in, the clerk seemed annoyed that she actually had to do something. I would NEVER recommend this hotel to my worst enemey!
