“Disgusting hotel. Terrible part of town and was afraid to touch anything.”

I booked this hotel as an emergency during Talledega Race Weekend. I was having construction done at my home and couldn't be there during that time. The neighborhood was scary. Scary to the point that I was afraid to leave my room for any reason after dark. The room was disgusting. The thing that tipped me off that this place was going to be gross was the public hair littering the sheets. I always check the sheets first at any hotel I check into. I immediately went to the front office and asked to either change my room to allow me a refund. I was granted neither. I ended up driving to Fred's across the street to purchase blankets so that I could sleep on top of the sheets. I was afraid to let my feet touch the carpet or bathroom floor without socks. The only outlet in the entire room were the ones for the A/C, TV, and fridge. The light over the vanity didn't work. I endured the weekend knowing that weren't any other hotels available that weekend. Upon check out when I let them know just how unsatisfied I was I was asked " What did I expect for the price?". I laughed and told them that their rates were comparable to several name brand chain hotels in town. I will just say that this hotel was worse than a Mexican hotel I stayed in while on a mission trip. Please pay attention to reviews online, they generally hold some truth to them. I wish I had..

“Keep on driving...”

My husband and I decided to stay at the Budget Inn in Gadsden only because we didn't want to stay in one of the bigger surrounding cities because we thought they would be dirtier, more expensive, and harder to locate. We should've ignored those thoughts. The room was 'smoke-free' but was BELOW and BETWEEN smoking rooms. The hotel allows pets (we have two cairns) but there is NO WHERE TO WALK THEM! There is only the one parking lot--which faced the main drag and if you were there that night, you heard my pups barking at you trying to unload your car because we could not calm them down from all the noise. There was severe water damage in the bathroom and on the carpet in our room.
