Best hotel on my recent Scandinavia trip-staff, location, breakfast-even with fresh fruits

“Cute”

Hotel Ansgar in Ostende is a semi-historical building with quaint but clean rooms, free wireless internet and excellent breakfast. An amusing experience in all. There is a play room for little kids on ground floor too.

“Great place to stay”

Excellent location within walking distance to centre core and most local attractions. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Would go back there anytime.

A clean hotel with somewhat old-fashioned decor. Staff helpful and able to speak English well.

“Decent accomodations in Odense, Denmark”

This hotel is nothing special but very clean, like most Danish hotels, very convenient to downtown tourist area, good dining room, easy access by road, free parking Only downside during our visit was some industrial trainees from Asia immobile in the lounge with the TV on from around 4-9 PM, but since we didn't use the lounge this wasn't too bad.

“Ok hotel, good location, great staff”

We checked into Hotel Ansgar after driving from Gotenburg Sweden. We requested late check in and were pleasantly surprised to have someone actually meet us at the door around 10pm. Parking was a bit of a challenge as the hotel was hosting an event so the limited number of parking spaces were taken. We had to park on the street for an hour or so and then move our car when we saw a space available. The condition of the hotel is a bit run down. The room was a good size but dated. The shower was unpleasant. There was no actual shower stall, just a shower head pointed towards the toilet. After showing the entire bathroom floor was soaked. The hotel is a short walk to the city's centre about 1.5 mile to the Hans Christian Andersen museum. Free wifi and breakfast made up for the somewhat disappointing room. Friendly multiligual staff and great location. Good hotel choice if you aren't looking for any frills.

“un peu deçu”

hotel très bien situe, confortable, mais la chambre qui nous a ete attribuee était très petite pour 2 personnes ! (il y avait des chambres plus grandes), parking pour voiture, mais limite en places ; nous y retournerons sans problème mais en demandant une chambre plus grande

“Odense Hotel”

While cleanliness (dust bunnies under the bed) was an issue, my husband was ill while we were there and the staff was wonderful in getting a doctor and helping us to find the hospital. The restaurant is limited but there is 24 hour free espresso.

“A good choice”

Easy walk, with suitcase, from station. There is not a great choice of hotels in Odense but the Ansgar was adequate and I did not regret picking this hotel. Usual buffet breakfast with a small choice of hot dishes, again this was quite acceptable although one member of our party who had breakfast almost at the finish of service says everything was cold by then. Only problem was first room smelled very strongly of smoke but we were moved to a smoke-free room with no problem. Lift does not go to top floor but again this was not a problem. TV signal was great. Staff were friendly and helpful.
