“Poor Hotel. Dirty Rooms, Don't go here”

We were at this hotel last weekend, and it was a poor experience at best. The BAD: First room we were given had a smell of strong smoke, was very small and had a damp feeling. We talked to the lady at the counter, and she seemed surprised that I wanted a different room. She tried to downgrade our selection saying there was a wedding happening. After a small discussion, she gave an equal room on the same floor. This room was like the other, except it didn't smell like smoke. The second room did smell musty, and the wallpaper was stained. The air conditioner / fan was broken, and the controls were smashed on the fan. It looked like it has been out of service along time. The heat also did not work in the room as well. The carpets in the hallways are all stained and dirty. The whirlpool was not operational and the pool was really dirty looking. The water had a green look to it, and towels were not provided. The food in a restaurant was overpriced. The bed in the room was either very worn out, or very cheap. I'm actually surprised this hotel is rated a 3 star. I'm surprised it isn't rate 1 star, maybe 2. If you need to use the Microwave, you have to move the dresser and unplug the fridge. The hotel is about 30min drive from Fredericton. There also was a water-boil advisory for the hotel. The GOOD The location is very nice, and the price is VERY cheap. You honestly get what you pay for. I honestly do NOT recommend this place unless your cheap and don't care about anything.

“Begs for Renovations”

We stayed two nights and our backs ached from the outdated beds. The whole hotel screams for renovations. The staff does the best they can to keep it clean, but it is just worn out. Such a beautiful location with so much potential. What a shame it is being neglected by the owners. P.S. Don't have the ribs.

“"stay away"”

Hotel is out of the way from Fredericton. It is an old property and I would not stay at this hotel again. The rooms/hotel need to be updated and the water pressure is very low and the rooms just feel dirty. I only stayed here because the hotels in Fredericton were booked. I would recommend the Best Western in Fredericton if you are staying in the area.

Best Western, Fredericton...its brand new and great for business travellers. Better than the Crown downtown, this hotel is old and needs the rooms updated.

“Not that great.”

Hotel staff were great, very accomodating. Hotel needed to be cleaner. Very smelly. I think maybe 10 years ago it was probably a great place to stay. Needs updating.

“Atlantic Provinces”

Restaurant food was very good, but the restaurant was understaffed and we experienced unacceptable wait time at dinner.

“Everything you would expect”

This hotel has everything you would expect in a mid-priced accommodation. The rooms are clean, well-cared for, comfortable, and quiet. The restaurant is all right, nothing special. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. I would definitely stay again and would recommend it to anyone staying in the area.

“Not impressed”

The hotel is a very impressive development and is situated on the river in a picturesque setting. Unfortunately, it is rundown and needs general maintenance. The hotel room we were first shown had a bad smell and we were given the room next door. It wasn't much better but we were very tired and accepted it. The bed was comfortable. The hotel accepts dogs and we could hear dogs in people's rooms. The airconditioning unit in our room was very noisy. It is a long way from downtown Fredericton and difficult to find at night! We chose not to eat at the restaurant so we cannot comment on the food.

“Very comfortable place”

This was a very comfortable place in a lovely setting. Unfortunately, there was a large group travelin tpgether who were there. As a result breakfast service was a bit disorganized.

“Great place for family stay”

This is a kid-friendly and dog-friendly place. (They have dog bowls in the lobby!) Very clean and comfortable - great pool and hot tub open from 6:30 am-11 pm. Friendly staff and a good breakfast buffet. Situated in a beautiful spot by the St. John River.
