As good as you'll find for the price

Posted 1-Mar-2015
Pros: It was quite, and comfortable, and everything worked.
Cons: While it is in an upscale neighborhood, it is too far from any attractions to walk or for cab rides to be cost effective. Rent a car-problem solved!!
Location: Nothing,,, there is nothing to do nearby! Unless you are just driving down I95, or flying into FXE, (not FLL) the location is not the attraction.
Pleasant, friendly lady checked us in. We stayed just one day, the hotel was completely full, but our room was very quite - which certainly speaks more about our 'neighbor guests' than this or any other motel, just luck of the draw... thanks guys! Our room was considerably larger than we usually get, with a full sized couch which made watching the High Def, flat screen TV much easier than sitting on the bed, or the single chair that we are used to (yes, we are middle aged couch potato's,,, I've come to grips) The bed was very comfortable, the shower had plenty of water pressure, & the tub actually drained!! The air conditioner had a wall thermostat, was very quite (comparatively) and kept the room very comfortable without large fluctuations in temps. There was a very well stocked breakfast bar the next morning. The location is not great for the beach or for cruises, but we got into town one day before our cruise, had a rental car, and time to kill. Going through expedia (a couple of months in advance), I am convinced we got the best bang for the buck(one hundred sixty six of em). Incidentally, if you are going on a cruise, you can rent a car from Thrifty at the airport (at least at FLL; I don't know about MIA), and drop off at the docks for no extra charge; reserve it at least a week in advance & it's also (probably) the least expensive rentals.

DO not go there if you can

Posted 24-Feb-2015
Pros: Staff were helpful
Cons: Everything
Location: Nothing is walking distance except for a scary looking gas/repair station
Forget about the hotel being non smoking. We had to change 2 rooms to actually find one that did not stink of smoke or dogs. The hotel and rooms are dated. The first room did not even have a working bathroom beside the cigarette stink. Second room also had a very strong cigarette smell and non working A/C.

Not so good

Posted 14-Feb-2015
This time, they really did it. Messed up my prepaid stay. Lock me out of my Expedia pre paid room, forgot to tell me they had taken half my luggage out of my room. Finally, my expensive toothpaste was no where to be found.

Good price

Thr airconditioning was noisy. Be sure to rent a car. The cost of a taxi is $40 one way in the high season. There is no shuttle.

Alt und abgewohnt

Posted 16-Jan-2015
Das Hotel ist alt, abgewohnt und nicht gepflegt. Der Pool ist sehr klein und an einer Strasse gelegen. Das gesamte Haus machte einen sehr ungepflegten Eindruck.

No microwaves/fridges. Cold pool and hot tub. Bad.

Posted 7-Jan-2015
Pros: Hot tub - IF IT WORKED. It did not! Breakfast was not bad. Overall condition of the hotel is nice.
Cons: Hot tub and pool (both way too cool) in December. Add fridges and microwaves to the rooms. Convert the smoking rooms into non-smoking!
Location: Close to the main highway.
This is our 2nd time there but we go for one reason only - it's one of the few hotels in the area with a hot tub. Unfortunately, their maintenance people are incompetent - the very reason we stayed there - the hot tub - was broken. It worked but the water was cool and not enjoyable at all. The pool is NOT heated so it is very cold in December (even in an absolute heat outside). We reported the cool water in the hot tub and they could not fix it for the next 4 days. The ONLY thing to their credit was the partial refund they gave us for the inconvenience. They also put non smokers in smoking rooms. The only hotel that ever did that to us - twice in a row now. No fridges or microwaves in the rooms. VERY inconvenient!

Hotel had fleas in the room

If your are lucky you may get a room with a little fridge and microwave which helps when travelling with children. We were lucky on our way north not so lucky on our way back.
