"A beautiful resort with a few drawbacks"
My family of five(husband/wife/16yr old/20yr old/22yr old) stayed for the first time over Fouth of July weekend. The resort was beautiful and clean, the staff helpful and pleasant. However, it was overwhelmingly crowded with families of kids. That made for somewhat of an unpleasant experience for us just because our kids are older and there's not much at all for them to do at this resort. Therefore, we found ourselves using the fitness facility which is really nice, and my daughter swam with the Dolphins at the resort which was also a great experience. We were at the pool for a little while but it was so crowded the pool was cloudy and not refreshing. We couldn't use the adult pool because our 16 year old was too young. We ended up getting all of our meals outside of the resort at different restaurants along Marathon and Islamorada, which I highly recommend doing. So for families with young kids, I would say do it, but not for families with older children/young adults.

"Nice hotel close to the beach"
Our stay was a very nice experience at this hotel. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The staff was always very willing to assist and the folks at the pools, bars, lobby and concierge were personable, helpful and very friendly. We had room 535; there was a view of the ocean from the balcony. Our opinion is that the only rooms that would have better views would be the end units; on our floor of the building, those rooms would be 536, 537 and 538 (as well as the corresponding rooms on different floors).

"Beautiful hotel on the beach"
Very helpful, professional staff ,although our room was on the small size it was very well apointed and clean, the adult only pool was perfect for relaxing and lounging without distractions. the shore line was rocky, but the pier extended beyond the rocks allowing you easy access to the ocean, the concierge was very knowledgeable in setting up trips and suggesting outing, check in and out was a breeze. unlike some of the other posts, our room was above the entrance and was very quiet, The breakfast buffet was ok but convenient we never had dinner or lunch, but the food being served pool side looked appetizing .

"Amazing first visit"
Our trip was even better than expected. Sunset Key is a quaint, beautiful setting. It is totally relaxing and private. You truly feel like you are on vacation while you are there. The biggest decision you will have is whether to go to the pool, the beach or take the quick ferry to the mainland for more adventures.

"Best location in Key West"
The hotel is in a great location next to Mallory square the best location for watching sunset. They have a great sunday brunch. The room is average, ours had a balcony with ocean view. The pool is tiny and mostly in the shade. It's a block away from Duval St. and front St. I would definetely stay here again.

"Wonderful vacation with three teenage sons "
Hawk's Cay Resort is a wonderful experience. The property we rented there by Duck Key Vacation rentals was comfortable and accommodating for our family of 5. Our three teenage sons were also happy with the activities available, though it would be nice if teen night were offered more than just on the weekends. Diving in the Keys was a great experience. Would have loved to go deep sea fishing, we almost did but when we reached our fishing destination the seas were too rough, but it was a nice ocean ride out to the spot and we were fully refunded what we paid to go deep sea fishing. We would love to return to this resort and will recommend it to everyone we know.
