“Bellissimo”

The San Gallo Palace is rated 4 stars, which I totally agree with. It's a 15 minute walk to the Centre of Florence, or you can hop on to the Number 1 or 7 bus at Liberty Piazza, outside the Hotel. The rooms of the hotel are very clean and all the staff we encountered were always pleasant and willing to accommodate our requests. Breakfast was a buffett affair, although it got repetitive after our 5 days, but we always had it "Al Fresco" in the hotel courtyard. Overall, a hotel that's value for money. Tip, if you take the number 7 bus back to the hotel from the centre, stay on the bus at the San Gallo stop, and it carries on to a little village outside Florence called Fiesole. Get off at the village square and take a walk up the back lane to the San Fransesco Monastary, where along the way stop for a bite to eat and enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of Florence.

“Very good hotel”

About 10 minute walk to the main attractions. The hotel is in a safe area i found the staff helpful and the room was a good size and very clean. I would certainly recommend the hotel to friends and family.

“Great hotel”

Everything about the hotel was great. Huge terrace, multi-head shower and a full breakfast.(Eggs, bacon, sausage, cereal and more!) The hotel's location was about a 10-15 minute walk to the Duomo. It is not in the mix of things but rather in a quiet neighborhood. We loved it.

“IA real find”

A really excellent medium size hotel- we could not fault the cleanliness, excellent staff or the good breakfasts. It made a good base for a few days in Florence, however if you like to sleep with your windows open it could be a little too noisy for you. Its location lend itself to interesting walks into the heart of the city just 10 minute stroll away, while buses and trains are a mere short taxi ride away.

“Good, Clean, new hotel with excellent service.”

Hotel: New modern hotel on the outer edge of the historical areas of Florence. Room: The room was modern with new, clean bathrooms and fantastic showers. We had the Superior room which was very large (even by US standards). Service: Above standard. They recommended great restaurants and tours. Location: I know that there have been gripes about the location. It was apprx. a 12-15 minute walk to the Duomo on a flat, well-paved, road. For us, the location was perfect. The area was not swarming with tourists or street salesmen.

“Good location, Great bathroom!”

We were here only 2 nights. It was located within walking distance to all sights. Breakfast was good (included with our room rate which I really like). Our room was very clean with all the details thought of.

“Very good value”

The San Gallo Palace Hotel room was spacious and comfortable. A bit of a walk from the centro storico but worth paying less money for this! Only problem we encountered was that the air conditioning in the hotel was not functioning. It was rather warm in the room so we had to open the window for air. Once the window was open the traffic noise was very loud; made it difficult to sleep. With the windows closed, it was nearly soundproof. Hopefully, this is not an ongoing problem with this hotel.

“Wonderful Hotel”

This was my favorite hotel of all the places we stayed at during our trip to Italy. It was in a great location, hotel was beautiful, room has comfortable bed, a terrace, large clean bathroom, staff spoke English and was so very helpful. Hotel had a small bar with a few food items which came in handy when we didn't want to go out for a whole meal. I would highly suggest staying here. Hotel was also close to the train station, the bus stop and many places to eat.
