“Hidden jewel in Florence”
Wonderful hotel, effecient and extremely helpful staff, a joy to stay at. Finding the hotel to begin with was a the only problem we encountered as it is on a one way system however, once we got there, it was worth the hassle. Staff are very friendly and will go out of their way to make sure your stay is a pleasant one. If you want to go into the city centre, forget the car and ask the hotel for their bikes and ride in. Its not far and you take in the wonderful views of Florence. Breakfast in the morning is great, fresh fruit as well as hot food and is very tasty. If i go back to Florence again, i would definitely stay at this hotel.
“First trip to Italy”
The food and prices are excellent. The first room we were in had issues with a fan that went all night...so the manager changed our room the next day... The visitors and staff were all friendly. I would not however try to use a (GP) navigator and find your way by car rental, the streets are very difficult. The TV was only in Italian....wish we could have English speaking station. There is a shuttle you can take into town if you schedule it and book 24 hours in advance. A superior room is worth the extra amount. :)) Lovely
“Very nice and romantic hotel”
Extremely satisfied, very nice location, quite, large garage, excellent breakfast; did not use the pool nor the sauna and the wi-fi internet was spotty. We got used to it, at times had to go to the main lobby or bars or restaurants were the servers had better reception (the walls of this very well restructured flour mill are very thick) Some difficuly to find the hotel, narrow roads. My wife and I loved the hotel.
“Fab hotel, near to Florence but secluded and peaceful and free courtesy bus!”
Travelled with hubbie and s kids (8&6) and were given a junior suite with queensize bed and 2 singles. Lovely room with window overlooking the river and weir. Facilities excellent and restaurant super, a little pricey but convenient and great tables outside to take in the views. Pool a must for the kids after sightseeing in Florence. Regular courtesy shuttle bus from Hotel saves hassle of parking and only an 8 min drive. Would definitely recommend. Tip: close windows at sunset as room was filled with insects one night when we forgot to close windows at dinner time. Thankfully not the biting kind so all was well!
“Best hotel I have ever stayed at!!”
From the moment we arrived at Hotel Mulino di Firenze to when we sadly had to leave, we were more than satisfied with our choice to stay there. We were greeted by smiling faces (who all spoke English, thank goodness) and were willing and able to fulfil all our requests quickly after our arrival. We entered our room after walking through a courtyard area and were pleasantly surprised by the size and cleanliness of the room. With big ceilings and plenty of extra room for our suitcases, we felt as though we were in a luxurious but quaint hotel. The bathroom was larger than expected and nicely lined with marble (and also a heated towel rack!). We immediately felt relaxed by the atmosphere the hotel exudes. The hotel is a bit far from downtown but the shuttle has perfect times for a nice day in Florence (leaves at 9 or 10 and departs from the National Library at 530 or 630). We took the shuttle everyday which was incredibly convenient. We would come back and relax either in the private sauna and turkish bath (which you reserve the day before for an hour) and then head to dinner at the hotel restaurant. The food was incredible and we ended up eating there every night! We also scheduled massages with Sabrina (amazing!!). The service was incredible - they brought a bottle of wine to our room and we drank in the back courtyard overlooking the river. The scenery is gorgeous - it is the perfect mix of countryside feel and closeness to Florence. We would 100% stay here again!
“Belissimo”
Wonderful hotel, beautifully decorated, the staff could not have been more helpful. Very peaceful setting by the Arno, only a short distance from the city and a shuttle bus to take there and back. Excellent breakfasts. Would defintely recommed this hotel.
“Wonder Old World Charm on a Beautiful River”
This places oozes charm. A wonderful remake of an old mill right on the Arno River. Only opened in June 2010. Small hotel with lots of sitting areas for conversation/drinks. Marble baths. European service at its best. Air conditioning system will get you as cold as you like. Rooms with river views well worth the small extra cost. Not yet constructed: pool, restaurant kitchen, sauna, steam room, and poolside bar. Free shuttle to downtown Florence (ten to twenty minutes depending on time of the day). Expansive hot and cold buffet breakfast with all the cappucino you can drink. Free bicycles for ten minute ride to sister hotel with wonderful pool in beautiful garden. No surprises on the bill. Ask for the cocktail named "Claudia". It is named after my wife.
“Lovely hotel, Highly recommended”
Mulino di Firenze is outside of the city and about a 25 euro ride there. We used it as a base for driving through Tuscany, Cinque Terre and the areas, and it was wonderful to get back there at the end of a long day. We had a room for 4 and it was spacious and beautifully furnished, luxurious and modern bathroom and a gorgeous view of the river. The garage is right under the hotel and very easy to get to the highway ( with a gps, without it probably quite difficult as it is in the middle of a suburb of Florence). Breakfast was excellent, fruit, juices, specially made coffee, eggs, baked goods and excellent service. Everyone was very helpful with tips and reservations. The internet in the lobby was very good but unfortunately did not reach the rooms. There is a swimming pool but it was cold when we were there so we didn't try it. Altogether a lovely experience, and highly recommended.
“EXCELLENT”
