“absolute charm, going back for sure”
husband and i stayed here on a month long road trip of the western US. After many nights in big box hotels, we stayed at the Grand Canyon Inn. We were not just a room/credit card number. Front desk called us my our names. We got to view all of the rooms (everyone is totally different) and then pick the one that we wanted. Internet access, games, tv, 24 hour coffee downstairs in a common room. Can not be beat for the price! LOVED it and will be going back.
“Cute historical hotel !”
Good service and cute rooms. Very confutable room with different theme. My husband and I stayed in Netherlands room and my friends stayed at blue rooms. Netherlands room was with shower but Blue room have bath tab. Each room was different from each other and because we arrived early, we could see rooms and choose the room we liked. It was really nice touch.
“Frendly Hotel Owner”
Each room has it's own character, this hotel is like a guest bedroom at your aunt's home. The hotel is more for couples rather than families with children.
“Far west”
If you want a charming place that looks like you are in a kind of folkloric hotel, go for it! It's a little bit noisy in the morning, yes, sure... But whatever, it's really nice... and cheap!
“Very friendly. Nice people. Had a good time there”
I was very happy with the hotel.Old fashion envirement. Well done . Takes you badck in time. The owners are great. I talk about the hotel as much as the rest of the trip.
“Very impressed...”
I wasn't sure what to expect from the Grand Canyon Hotel as I was travelling on a budget and had chosen it on price and location. However, it easily surpassed any expectations I would have had. The late 19th century building has been beautifully restored and each room has its own theme. I was able to choose the room I wanted from the interesting selection. It's centrally located in Williams and in easy striking distance of the Grand Canyon. The owners were always friendly and helpful. I'd love to stay there again!
“Great but quaint”
My husband and I stayed at the Grand Canyon Hotel as we were traveling through Arizona for a move from Indiana to California. Since the Grand Canyon was along the way, we decided to stop off for the night and chose this as a place to stay. I knew what to expect from viewing the hotel home page and reading previous reviews, namely, that this was not going to be a luxury hotel experience. That being said, we loved the ambience of the place! Williams is a quaint, safe town where we felt comfortable parking our moving van overnight. The hotel staff were extremely hospitable and warm so that we both felt like we were staying at a friend's house rather than a hotel. Also, we immensely enjoyed the decor and historical atmosphere. We enjoyed the sitting area downstairs, where we shared some drinks and used the Wi-Fi after our long day of travel. Our single criticism was that our window only had a thin curtain covering it, which would have been fine except that the neon "Hotel Vacancy" sign was hanging just outside and kept our room lit up all night. Fortunately, as we were both very tired, we slept just fine (also, we have learned to carry sleep masks and ear plugs when we travel).
“Historic building with lots of character . Long, steep stairs. No elevator.”
They had our reservation just as they should have. For the price we had agreed to pay, they had several rooms available, all furnished differently, and we had our pick. The rooms had no regular "hotel furniture", but appeared to have been furnished with things that had been purchased locally at yard sales, estate auctions and antique stores, but it worked. There was no TV, but there was free internet. The back of the building housed a Thai restaurant. A few steps left of the hotel entrance was a local restaurant that served a good breakfast. Parking was wherever you could find it on the city streets. A comic "gun fight" is staged almost in front of the hotel at sundown.
“Cant wait to go back”
I stayed at Grand Canyon Hotel on Sept 25 of this year. From the moment I stepped into the door, I was made right at home by the owner, AMY. She made us feel so welcome...kind of felt like a family member! She gave me the choice of four different rooms. No two rooms are decorated the same. I believe the building goes back to the late 1890s. No tvs or phones in the rooms, which I liked! I picked the Corner Room, which faces Route 66. I loved the room and loved how it was furnished. Only one very very minor complaint...it was a bit noisy being right on Route 66 but it did quiet down around 10 PM. Next time I would pick a back room. I loved this old place and would be willing to bet anyone who stayed here would agree.
“unique”
Great hotel, each room has a different theme, and decorated in old era. Proprietors are awesome. There is a wonderful welcoming lobby for sitting and visiting, and benches out front for people watching. There is a shared frig and microwave. Parking is where you can find it. This hotel is right in the middle of everything, walking distance to restaurants, shops and bars.
