This was a luxurious stay. The setting is great, the cabin was clean and comfortable. The shower was odd though, as it only has an on and off setting, meaning you can't control the power of the jet, which resulted in excess water spilling over as there is also no way to control the direction of the shower head.

Bed was very old and tv was from 1990s with 5 channels. Bathroom had no hooks to hang anything up. Lights in room where flashing during the night. Other than that food was amazing and views

Was disappointed in the room considering the price we paid. The common area is lovely and huge and themed in mountain log cabin style. We were taken to our room which was a small chain hotel style room and dated on top of that. The bathroom was particularly tired and dated. Not all lights were working and and there was no reading light available and only 2 channels on the tv. Views were lovely and breakfast, which was included was delicious. But having stayed in a $200/ night motel a couple of days prior which was,spacious,up to date,sky movies,modern bathroom, seperate bedrooom,lots of lighting options and also had lovely views. It was super disappointing to be tucked away into a tiny room for 5x the price. Charge $500 NOT $1000.

We had a wonderful stay at the lodge. We only had breakfast there but it was excellent and in a beautiful setting. We played pool every night in the game room and enjoyed the hot tub after our hike. A little pricy but a very nice stay.

Wonderful Stay
The Fiordland Lodge is a wonderful place to relax and feel at home while traveling. The staff are very knowledgeable, helpful, and warm. The Lodge itself is in perfect condition and the included breakfast is a wonderful addition. We hope to stay again in the near future.

Little pricy but you get what you pay for. This was the best place we stayed during our 3 weeks New Zealand trip. The location is very nice, close but not too close to town and on the way to the Fiords. The host and staff super friendly and helpful. They noticed I'm a (very) picky eater and eat too little of their set menu (which my wife enjoyed) and had the chef cook one off's for me. (Don't ask for this :) I'm sure this should not become common practice). The trip is now 2 1/2 years ago but I'm still thinking about this place and had to write this review. See it for yourself.

Fantastic unique accommodation. Local timber used to build the lodge makes it warm & homely. Great hospitality by staff helping with general knowledge of area & service to make us feel welcome. All the added extras were appreciated & is what makes a holiday feel relaxing & comfortable. Quiet location from Te Anau but a 5 min drive & your in town. Meals fantastic & changed daily.

Luxury Accommodation with a friendly feel. So welcoming and helpful in every regard. The accommodation itself was incredible and the staff caring for us simply amazing. The food was fantastic, with taste, available selection and presentation. Loved the canapes with drinks before dinner. True quality. Will definitely return.

My wife and I spent 3 incredible nights of our honeymoon in the Fiordland Lodge. We couldn't have been happier with the Fiordland - the entire experience was top notch. Highly highly recommend!

Beautiful lodge in a breathtaking location. We only stayed here for one night, but we wish we could have stayed longer. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone planning a visit to Milford or Doubtful Sound.

Fjordland Lodge is located in a spectacular area. Andy and his staff made our stay a fantastic experience. Andy organized a heli-tour of Doubtful Sound on our last morning with pick up and drop off in front of the Lodge. What a way to finish our stay. When a booking problem at the lodge created a hiccup for our first night, Andy ensured that we were well cared for. You can always get a clear view a customer service when there is a problem and Fjordland Lodge passed the test with flying colors.

A wonderful location with staff that tries hard. Only would suggest more investment in WiFi and assuring adequate staffing in the kitchen. Dinners were lovely but took too long.

5 star meals at a 5 star lodge.
The view was priceless and the meals (dinner and breakfast) was fabulous. Definetly 5 star standard..I would give it 6 stars. The dinner was on par with any restaurant that have an average of $100 per person meal. And the breakfast was an absolute delight. If we ever go back to Fiordland, we would stay here again. I did feel a bit out of place since we were probably the youngest couple there. But nonetheless, the staff has made us feel welcomed. Afterwards we booked a 1.5hr helicopter tour to doubtful & dusty sound and the helicopter picked us up right in the lodge’s backyard. That was just awesome. Unfortunatley, that night, the sky was cloudy, so we didnt have a starry night that my wife wanted to stare at, but this has nothing to do with the accommodations. They also have a small dog that runs around the outside of the lodge. I have some phobic fear of any dogs, but this one was quite cute and made me feel comfortable.

Fantastic lodge in stunning environment
We had an amazing time at Fiordland lodge. The staff was incredibly helpful, food was great, and the area amazing. We took a helicopter from the lawn and went walking on the Kepler track. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Best accommodation in New Zealand!
We were convinced there is no better place to stay in New Zealand! The accommodations at Fiordland Lodge are incredible as is the service and staff. The lodge is beautiful and peaceful, and the meals were the among the best that we had on our entire trip to New Zealand. We had no idea that meals included in a stay could be so fabulous. The wine selection was superb as well. If you are looking to stay in the area for a few days or just passing through for a night, you must stay here! There is simply no where else of this caliber in the area - we were blown away by the experience. The team at Fiordland Lodge is the absolute best!

We stayed in one of the chalets which was of a very high standard. The location is fabulous, with amazing views over the lake. Food and service is exceptional. Not for everyone,but perfect for the discerning traveller.

The location was indeed wonderful and spectacular views from the lodge to the moutains and lake. STaff were very attentive and professional - although all we spoke with were international/foreigners and were unfamiliar with some of the surroundings/local knowledge etc. The lodge room on the top floor was very comfortable and quite compact - smaller than most of the suites and rooms we have stayed in in similarly priced properties. Disappointing level of amenities and no pool or spa for guests after a long day which would have been nice. Very peaceful location and great for a break away from civilisation. Food was of a good standard and staff were very happy to help with any requests.

Slice of Heaven
Recently made a stop at the Fiordland Lodge with my husband. We stayed in one of the two cabins on site; the cabins are located a short walk away from the lodge and still have views of the lake and surrounding landscape. It's a little slice of heaven between the afternoon tea and cookies they sneak in your fridge while you're out, the dog that will roam the grounds looking for someone to give her a pet, the beautiful scenery, and central location. Many excursion companies will pick you up at the Lodge or in Te Anau (5 minute drive). We decided to do the sea kayaking at Milford Sound which did not pick up at the hotel. The drive to Milford Sound was about two hours and was beautiful. The hotel can arrange all excursions for you and will rearrange breakfast/dinner around your plans. My only regret is that we didn't have more time in New Zealand. I will say that my husband and I are not super adventurous eaters and we both were worried about what the dinners would consist of (fyi - breakfast and dinner are included in rate and you have two choices for each course at dinner). Overall, the choices were definitely out of our comfort zone (i.e. venison), BUT we tried new types of food and everything was prepared excellently.

クルーズ前にゆっくりステイ
テアナウからは少し離れているが、湖を見下ろすす素晴らしいロケーション。クイーンズタウンからヘリで食事だけしにくるゲストもいるそうで、ディナーも楽しみました。華美な施設はないけれどリラックスを求めるひとには最高でしょう。
