I was looking for a Hotel in Frankfurt for a long week-end. Many of the reviews on line expressed concern about safety near the main railway station so I looked for one a little away from the centre. Some were too far outside the tourist area. I had not thought about an apartment but it was very competitively priced compared to the hotels.

"Wonderful Location of Steigenberger Metropolitan"
During an 8 week vacation we had the opportunity to stay at a wide range of Hotels. We have voted our stay at the Steigenberger Metropolitan Hotel in Frankfurt as the best hotel of our entire trip.
The location, so close to the station, was excellent. The hotel staff were extremely friendly, efficient and helpful in all ways. The room suited us perfectly and the breakfasts were superb. Well done Steigenberger Metropolitan, Frankfurt!

I stayed here for two nights and had business meetings in the hotel during that time. The building is fabulous but the fantastic hospitality of every staff member I spoke to is what made my stay so enjoyable. Impeccable service on all levels!

We just returned from a great 3 night stay at this hotel (Nov 17 - 20), and would recommend it to anyone. It's well situated for restaurants, site seeing, shopping and tourist sites. We walked everywhere. The hotel puts out a great breakfast, not just continental, but they even had scrambled eggs, bacon & sausage. It was a great start to the day. The double room was lovely, lots of room for the 2 of us, and the beds were very comfortable. There is some noise, but you are on a main street, and in a big city, so it is to be expected, it did not effect us. There is a red light district close by, but it was not obvious around the hotel, and did not see anything walking around the area of the hotel at night, we were not out late though, returning from dinner around 9;30 - 10:00 pm. We went to 3 different restaurants for dinner all on Kaiserstrasse within 1 or 2 blocks either way of the hotel, which were all wonderful. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Frankfurt.
