“Definitely returning - a holiday in paradise”
Firstly, To all of you nay-sayers in previous reviews - which resort were you staying at? It was not Amunuca, that's for sure All we can say is "Wow! What a fantastic resort." From the moment we arrived by boat, we were greeted by friendly staff, and a cheerful welcome song, punch provided on arrival and great weather to go with it. The staff were incredibly nice (Bula!!! every time you walk past), catering for our every need, and becoming good friends as well. We woke up on our second day to have a chat with one of the gardeners who skinned and brought us fresh coconuts later that day (just to be nice). The place has a picturesque, well kept, clean pool, awesome spa for a relax, and great volleyball cluture that keeps people interested and social, whilst allowing others to escape to their own private havens. The bure we stayed in was sizable and the views were amazing - waking to that each day, we couldn't have asked for anything better. There's a pontoon about 500m out to sea which is a key feature. You're can kayak (or snorkel or swim) to it, tie up your kayak and climb on for a lie in the sun in the ocean - it's a great addition! We spoke with John, the manager, on the last day we were there - another friendly inclusion that made the trip even more enjoyable. He was able to draw on his experiences with Fiji and give some great stories as well. We couldn't have picked a better place to have a holiday and will be returning for our honeymoon - no questions asked!
“Fiji Magicical Resort”
I absolutely enjoyed my stay at Amunca. The staff is friendly and the location is perfect for anyone who is looking to get away and just relax and take in Fiji. The island is located across from the island in the Castaway movie with Tom Hanks so the views are breathtaking. The hotel should invest in an international chef and consider incorporating buffets into the dining experience as this would provide guests with more options. Although I went alone to the resort, I never felt alone as Amunca has many activities and the beach is beautiful (better than the beach at the resort next to Amunca).
“Best ever”
it was wonderful there the staff were friendly and helpful and the room was great there was always something to do on the activities. The only thing i didn't like was the food was a bit expensive and there wasn't much fruit on offer but other than that it was great
“Amanuca is really cool!”
The hotel is really great and the price is good for this hotel
“Excellent Value”
Friendly, good value resort. Even the food was good in the restaurant, contrary to previous reviews. Very relaxing. The Loloma beachfront bures are very private and spacious.
“Recommended”
Our stay at Amunuca Island Resort and Spa was highlighted by quintessential South Seas views, warm Fijian hospitality and warm ocean. We were upgraded one level on arrival. Ocean view bure (cottage) is recommended because beautiful ocean views are the essence of the resort. The resort had a good white clean sandy beach and azure waters (which is not the case with all Fijian resorts (and certainly not with main island resorts) Nightly entertainment consisted of intimate singing and guitar performances, karaoke, kava ceremony and in-house movies. The highlight of night entertainment for me was a traditional performance troupe from a neighbouring island village. Singing and dancing was of the highest order and performed with tremendous energy. Our only reservation was limited food selection for vegetarians. However, this is being addressed and I am sure future vegetarian visitors will be satisfied. The resort is under new management and all old unfavourable reviews are no longer applicable.

“Excellent”
I would definitely recommend Amunuca to people who are looking for a true island experience. The staff were so warm and friendly and the island was so beautiful with white sandy beaches and snorkelling that was truly amazing. If you are looking for the 5 Star Sheraton experience do not come here. But if you love the ocean and all that it offers and want experience the true Fiji and the warmth and joy of its people................ them Amunuca is a must!!!
“Great Location Great Value”
We just spent the last 5 days at Amanuca Resort, This place is just great, The people, service, location are top class, Amanuca poses great value for money while still delivering above its 31/2 star rating, Hotel staff are very obliging, food is great and good value. Shane and Rachel really look after you on the activity side of things. A must to visist.
“LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!”
We will be back to Amanuca! Our family of 5 were made very welcome and the attention to detail from all staff members made our holiday there a wonderful experience. We love the location and had previously stayed at the neighbouring resort Tokoriki (before having kids!). Tokoriki is an adults only resort - at Amanuca we experienced all we would have at Tokoriki and more and we were able to share the experience with our kids. There are plenty of activities you can participate in ranging from diving to facials at the day spa. They cater well for children also offering babysitting and a kids club. The rooms are attractively and comfortably furnished. We stayed in a garden room - the garden screens off other bures so you have some privacy. The restaurant and bar area is very open and every room has an amazing view of the ocean and island opposite. The pool is well set out and has a swim up bar and water slide. The food was great and portions were generous. The price of the food was fair and we enjoyed all our meals! The Kokoda is to-die-for! They offer a kids FOC (free of charge) menu for children 3 and under. This really suited us because our 3 year old eats small portions. The only negative experience was when we ran out of sunblock the day before we left - make sure you take plenty with you otherwise it will be quite an expense! We did without for one day by staying in the shade. We were very impressed and we can't wait to return!
