“Very comfortable, great location in St. Andrew;s”

We liked this hotel very much! Staff was friendly, the location could not have been better, beds were comfortable and the bathroom a nice size. We also very much enjoyed the breakfasts in the dining room with the great view looking out to the West Sands and over toward the golf course. Even though there was construction next door, it was very quiet.

“Top for friendliness and location”

Picked this hotel for a business trip to St Andrews because it appeared to offer good value. It turned out to have a great location with some rooms overlooking West Sands and the Golf Course. It was also convenient for the town, bus station, good walks and restaurants. I was travelling alone so it was reassuring to have a really friendly welcome from Phil and all the other staff were pleasant and competent. My twin room was lovely, perfectly equipped and comfortable. Breakfast offered a tremendous choice from the hot and cold buffet or you could have fresh cooked dishes from the kitchen. I would recommend porridge with berries and haggis and bacon! Although the hotel was generally clean and tidy, my only gripe would be that my bathroom sported a few strange hairs around the washbasin - the rest was fine. I would love to go back.

“'Scores' well with us”

We booked a 2 night stay for the purpose of a friend's wedding. The hotel is ideally located for everything in St. Andrews, particularly close to the beach and the Old Course. The breakfast room overlooked the beach. Staff were lovely and made us feel very welcome.

“Third visit and I'll be back again”

If you are looking to play St Andrews Old (or the other courses in town) you can't beat the location. Other hotels may have better views of the course, but at less than half the cost the Scores is the place to stay. This is my third time staying at the Scores and I booked early enough to get a very good rate. When I looked into extending my stay they were going to up the rate by 30% so I moved up the road to a guesthouse. Each of the staff I encountered were very friendly and helpful. Perhaps the best feature about the Scores for me is that it's just 100 yards from the starters on the Old, so if you are going to go early and get on the wait list you've got a short walk there and are able to quickly retreat to the warmth of satisfaction of the breakfast room once you've added your name to the list.

very expensive building site no breakfast included which I had not realised on booking, made room only very expensive the room was supposed to be a double although I was staying there myself as on a course, would have been very cosy with two people sharing
