Pleasant stay
Our stay at the hotel was pleasant, especially by its location. House keeping was not good enough that we had to remind the number of towels, they did not replace empty shower gels, etc.

Great hotel, good service, good breakfast. Not their fault but this hotel (and most others) are a bit of a walk from the train station. That said, staying at this hotel rather than in Bologna was much preferred.

This is a small hotel, so cannot be expected to have a lot of amenities. Breakfast was good, location was great, the room was very specious and generally comfortable, with nice wooden beams in the ceiling. Staff very helpful. The air conditioning was difficult to control though. Whatever I did with the dial, it was still cold and I could not switch it off. I was cold every night.

Central location. Extremely friendly staff. Junior suite was a little small. This was the smallest junior suite during my 15 day trip to Italy. However, the room was very clean. If you are handicapped, there is no lift. Staff did bring my bags to the room.

Good location. Less than satisfactory amenities.
The air conditioning was controlled by the staff in the lobby, thus at least 2 calls would have to be made during each day for the AC to be turned on. The bed was quite uncomfortable. However, the staff were kind.

No Comfort, No Heart, No Morality.
DO NOT STAY in the Single rooms if you need peace and quite. There are continuous (mainly) noises from a machine on the wall in the room, a machine outside and extremely loud pigeons because the room looks into an ugly square of the 4 surrounding buildings which echoes all of the noise. When closing the windows to seal off the noise the room became too stuffy. While there was decent hospitality, when I kindly asked to leave early due to the noise in the room the owner charged me one day cancellation and the charge for the day I left because it was after check out time. First, I was unable to wake up by the check out time because I couldn't sleep due to the noise and lack of comfort. Second, the cancellation charge is for "cancellations." I was instead leaving due to "faulty merchandise" similar to returning a damaged item in a store. Even though past guests have stayed in this room and had no problems, this is irrelevant. Further when booking on hotels.com, I requested a quiet room with a view which the owner ignored. The owner took no responsibility for these circumstances and made the situation worse. Instead of turning lemons into lemonade he caused more damage. Fortunaly Hotels.com reimbursed me for the additional "cancellation" charge. Nevertheless, a hotelier with heart and morality regardless of "business" would not have tacked on the charges. Being a hotelier means caring for guests and their wellbeing while away from their home.

Pleasant short stay but the only hotel in which I have stayed without a lift. We had to carry suitcases up to the third floor.

Hotel Nazionale - a hidden gem!!
Beautiful hotel in a beautiful city! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. From arriving to departing, the staff were all very pleasant and always there to help if we needed anything. The standard of the rooms is very high, they are lovely and daily the room is cleaned, the bed is made and new towels are provided. The rooms are air-conditioned, which is invaluable especially in the summer months, which is when we were there and there is also a safe in the rooms to put all your valuables in, which is really easy to use. An amazing spread is put on at breakfast time and you are spoilt for choice. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!!

Our booking had been messed up by the hotel but we benefited by being upgraded to a suite for one of the two nights we stayed at the hotel. The hotel is right in the centre of town which is great when you're there but less fun when you're trying to find it. Parking was in a council car park quite close by and certainly cheap. There are excellent places to eat in town.

What an italian welcome!
The staff at this hotel were truly amazing. They took care of every need with kindness and speed. The quality of the breakfast was superb...especially the capuccino brewed on demand! Even a juicer for fresh squeezed orange juice. When I landed, they were so kind as to run outside to get me a specialty Ferrara pizza. I highly recommend this hotel and will surely be back there this year. And thanks to hotmail, a great price as well!

Perfect!
This small newly renovated hotel is in a wonderful position in Ferrara. All three staff were not only helpful but friendly and polite, each with fluency in several langages. Room was a good size and very well appointed and serviced. Breakfast was very good and coffee excellent. Only one negative is that there is no lift but all else makes up more than enough for that.

Très bon rapport qualité-prix, centre ville
Excellent séjour sur cet hôtel d'une propreté exemplaire et dont la situation géographique est optimale en plein centre ville. L'option de parking public est à deux pas de l'établissement, le tarif dérisoire (nous avons payé 7 euros pour près de 48 heures en vendredi à dimanche). Merci également à notre réceptionniste pour la clarté des informations partagées et la gentillesse de l'accueil. Seuls bémols, une relative isolation sonore qui peut parfois, en cas de bruit en ville, quelque peu embarrasser... Mais Ferrara est une ville calme et les évènements bruyants semblent se terminer à minuit pile, le cas échéant. Bref, excepté ce petit embarras l'espace d'un ou deux instants, c'est un excellent choix !!!!
