“Get away bargain”

We spent one night for a quick getaway to the beach. The room was clean and had 2 beds plus the sofa, fridge and microwave. It was certainly adequate for the need and the price was good. The beach is a quick walk away and there are several good restaurants nearby. The House of Welsh had live entertainment on Wednesday night with dancing. Fun!

“Clean and comfortable, good budget hotel close to beach”

Hotel employees are friendly and helpful. Minutes walk (1 block) to the beach which is wide and beautiful. Close walk to several good restaurants, convenience store, sandwhich shops, ice cream and beach/tourist shopping. Room was comfortable and very clean, smelled fresh. Private balcony is nice- mine faced a wooded yard and other cottages in direction of the beach. Pool is very small, I didn't use it. Hotel has a nice extended stay policy which allows room access until 6 PM for a reasonable surcharge. Fenwick is family-oriented and not a party/bar scene, everything closes early.

“No frills beach stay”

The staff was very friendly, and the room was clean, but dated and not very pleasant. It would have been nice to have a different view, because the rooms mainly look out over the parking lot and the 4-lane road. There are a number of restaurants and shops in walking distance. There is a walking/bike lane along the highway, but I would recommend walking along the side street which is not very busy. The walk to the beach is very short and easy since you don't have to cross the highway.

“just fine!”

The good: location is perfect. almost right on the water! right in between Ocean city and Rehoboth but the area right around the hotel is relatively quiet and less crowded. The hotel was clean and provided us with clean linens each day. There is also a pool and our room also had a refrigerator. The bad: Although the hotel was clean, it was not very well maintained. some of the walls between suites were in disrepair. The carpets and linens were obviously cleaned regularly but need to be replaced. There was no information in the room about how to contact the front desk with questions so I had to use my cell phone to call the main number--they weren't very good about answering the phone. Also there was no "do not disturb" sign so we were interrupted our first morning by a cleaning person who disregarded the locked door in her attempt to come clean the room. The bed was also rock-hard, although beds are a matter of taste, I was uncomfortable! All in all, I think you get what you paid for. For the price we paid, we got a clean, but not updated room in a great location. not great but not bad. it's fine if you're not planning on staying in the room very much.
