“A very comfortable hotel for a weekend break”
We spent one night at this hotel and were very impressed with the comfort and cleanliness of our room and the quality of service. Facilities are very good in relation to the cost of rooms on weekends.
“Excellent value and well located”
Got a great price considering it was Easter weekend and we needed somewhere close to our friend's wedding venue at short notice. We were very impressed when we arrived - hotel was much bigger and better equipped than we had expected. Room was not that big, but very comfortable, very clean and had a good bathroom. Also appreciated the widescreen plasma TV! Staff were friendly and polite, even though they were obviously pretty busy!

“back in the 80s”
two things i found bad about this hotel were, that some of the rooms face on to an outdoor seating area, used mostly by people from the bar, and the second thing was the breakfast. make sure you ask for a room that DOES NOT face the courtyard. as for the breakfast, i thought i had gone back in time, twenty years at least. a buffet of friend food, 3 cerals to choose from and some fruit. the water melon looked like it had been dug up. i couldn't believe that someone thought it was edible. the hotel seems to be mostly used by business people, not a hotel for leisure. other than that, the room is simple but comfortable and clean.
“Ramada Farnham (formerly Hog's Back Hotel)”
I have known this hotel for many years. Originally the Hog's Back Hotel, it is currently the Ramada Jarvis, Farnham. Strictly speaking it is pretty muh mid-way between Farnham and Guildford on the A31. "Improvements" to the A31 a few years ago have resulted in the hotel being visible from the dual-carriageway, but very difficult to reach thanks to a new maze of link roads and underpasses. However, if you follow the hotel signs, you'll eventually get there, however illogical the route seems to be (paticularly coming from the Guildford direction). Although the staff were friendly and professional, the ground floor double room was a huge disappointment. The bed was a strange combination of hard and bouncy at the same time - one of the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in. The room was too hot, but a search for the thermostat was fruitless. Amenities were basic, to say the least. Minimal towels and no hand flannels. Breakfast was a sparse buffet and there was no egg station. A pre-fried egg on fried bread or scrambled egg was the only choice, but the quality was quite good. Unfortunately I couldn't recommend this hotel purely because of the room and terrible bed which made sleep difficult. I won't risk it again. A better alternative is the Bush at Farnham or the Holiday Inn at Guildford (although both are sometimes over-priced for what they are).
