This hotel is the best place we have stayed. Fantastic accommodations, great location, delicious food on breakfast buffet and in bar. We will use Marriott again.

Trip with 3 grandsons to visit Washington DCPosted 30-Sep-2013
Pros: The staff, the pool and our dining experience with 3 boys.
Cons: I cant think of one thing.
Location: Plenty to do visiting all the different monuments and seeing the changing of the guard very beautiful.
It was wonderful and very beautiful We had 3 grandsons ages 8, 11, and 14. We booked for a 2 night stay but had to leave on Saturday evening due to the fact that the youngest was homesick. I could not have asked for a more accommodating staff and a great room with a nice pool for the kids. This was the 2nd time we stayed at this Marriott and would definitely recommend this facility to anyone. Thank You so Much!

Unauthorized amount charged by managementPosted 5-Sep-2013 on Hotels.com
I am unhappy because when I went home and found out that the hotel charged my credit card for $139.62 as security deposit. I was told the maximum is $50. I called them and the let me run around calling several departments and I still have not got my money refunded. ( I did not break anything or take anything from the hotel).

Convenient to 2941 RestaurantPosted 4-Sep-2013 on Hotels.com
We chose this hotel because it was convenient to 2941 Restaurant, where we recently held our wedding. The lobby & surroundings of the hotel are nice, expansive & modern, and the front desk & other hotel staff were friendly & polite. The rooms at this hotel, though, are rather small in comparison to the look and feel of the lobby and surrounding areas. They also had a shadow of a smell of what used to be smoking rooms. (Can't confirm this - was just my perception.) My husband & I stayed in a Deluxe King room. The setup was spacious enough, but the other rooms w/2 double beds where our guests stayed (Classified as just "Guest Rooms,” I think) were pretty cramped, with not much room to spread out beyond the beds. Additionally, the bathrooms had practically NO counter space. So if you book here, be sure to ask for a Deluxe room. Also, I can't believe that in this day and age, Marriott is charging for Internet in their guest rooms. The charge applies from 12pm on the day you initiate it until 12pm the next day, not on a 24-hour cycle. Considering that check-in is at 3pm and check-out is at 11, I find this to be a total rip-off! On a happy note, the hotel was very accommodating about granting late check-out to our group. I was not blown away by this hotel, but it served our purposes perfectly, being near our wedding venue, with reasonable rates, plenty of common areas for our group to mingle, a delicious breakfast buffet, and clean, comfortable rooms. Overall, a good experience.

updating Hotel information.Posted 27-Aug-2013
Pros: It was very close to my training location.
Cons: Update the guest room book.
Location: Again next to what I needed. Close to stores and eateries. Nice location. Had a nice walking area and a pretty location.
Check in went well. Nice staff, helpful and welcoming. Room was nice. The frig we asked for and verified wasn't in the room. Was told would be there soon. We went out to get supplies, frig not there. We called the desk told on it's way. Housekeeping came by for something, I told her and she went to another room and got us a frig. Tipped her for that. Called room service, ordered but had a call back that our room menu was out of date, no biggy but annoying. Asked for internet and was given a price which was 3 dollars more than the book said. The desk didn't know about the book or the price. Things changed a little after I gave them my Marriott membership #. The internet was now free. On checkout day the internet was cut off before checkout time. Housekeeping showed up at 9 a.m. to clear the room. Checkout is 12 pm. Nothing like "don't let the door hit you on the way out". We were almost afraid to go down to breakfast, didn't know if the key would still work. I travel a lot and have never had this kind of treatment. I'm not sure if they treat all the "cheap guests" the same way or not. It would be interesting to go back as a full paying guest and see what is different.
