Good place, good location

Posted 26-Jul-2015
Stayed here for one night. Needed a place to stay for the night before the Presque Isle half marathon. Everything else in the area was already booked. Hotel was as expected, nothing special but served the purpose.

Musty smelling rooms

Posted 23-Jul-2015
Pros: easy on-off the highway, bed linens and beds were comfortable, breakfast was good, two connected rooms. Cons: We had two rooms and both had an unpleasant musty smell when we entered. Even after spraying all over a half a bottle of travel size Febreeze the smell remained. We almost couldn't leave fast enough. We were thankful it was a quick one night stop while driving across country. We wouldn't stay there again. The rooms weren't the newest, most up-to-date rooms, but that would have been okay if they were clean and didn't smell badly.

Stay was OK

Posted 20-Jul-2015
Pros: Pretty close to everything we wanted to do. Breakfast was definitely better than average, and the lady working the breakfast area was very friendly.
Cons: Kind of dated. Rooms could have been a little cleaner.
Location: Near casino, Presque Isle, Zoo
Sheets were clean. Bed was comfortable. Overall ok.

Hotel condition needs to be upgraded

Posted 19-Jul-2015
Cons: Needs to be renovated
We picked the hotel because it was convenient to family and events we were traveling to. The hallways reeked of smoke. The room cleanliness and comfortability were ok. The breakfast was great. But the bathroom shower fixtures were separated from the wall, the toilet bowl leaked, the paper holder was coming off the wall. They did fix the sink leak after we complained. We think that there was a mold problem there.

AMAZING free breakfast!

Posted 14-Jul-2015
Pros: AMAZING breakfast buffet, outdoor pool heated to 86 degrees.
Cons: Rooms, A/C unit, pool area showing their age; desk person not there for 10 minutes when I wanted to check-in.
Location: Very close to I-90, so handy for a quick overnight stay while traveling farther. Also close to Lake Erie, although we did not scout the area.
The hotel, rooms (including air conditioning unit), and outdoor pool are all showing their age, and I had to wait at least 10 minutes for someone to get back to the check-in desk (granted this was at 10PM). HOWEVER - the breakfast buffet was quite sumptuous, with plenty of variety including melt-in-your-mouth cherry turnovers. Pretty much made up for the other things. And the nice thing about the pool was that even though it wasn't super warm outside, the pool was heated to 86 degrees.

Stay in Erie instead

Posted 14-Jul-2015
Pros: The price The bed was comfortable
Cons: The floor and bathroom should be cleaned better Include a mini-fridge
I was torn between staying here or at one of the many hotels near Erie. I chose this place for its price, but I regret the decision. It's very shabby. The entire building reminds me of an old used car that can never look new again despite any amount of cleaner. I was annoyed with the food situation - no nearby restaurants and no mini-fridges for outside food. It's a 10 minute drive into town or a 10 minute drive to all the restaurants near the cluster of hotels in Erie. The only food near the hotel is a BK and a dining area near the lobby. The dining area was closed, but I discovered later that all its food is served on paper plates and I don't know if there is a real kitchen.

Convenient

Posted 13-Jul-2015
Pros: It was reasonably priced, had an outdoor pool, lots of pillows, right off the exit
Cons: The free breakfast area was enclosed with a very long line and limited seating.
Location: Easy to get to, right off the exit. Presque Isle State Park, Waldameer near by.
Nice place to crash after a day at the beach. Spent a little time at the outdoor pool. There was free breakfast included but there was a really long line and limited seating so my children and I missed out on that.
