“No Problems at all”
good location, hotel was super especially since they allow pets and I don't go if I can't take my dog.
“Monroe's greatest hotel”
The hotel, for the price, perfect - Monroe's centrally located for making several stops/visits per day. The access to family staples is right there - the town itself has some excellent little bars, great food. Sultan has a Bakery that is a MUST for breakfast, the portions are generous and the food cannot be beat. The homemade bread for toast with homemade jellies are to die for.
“Do away with the pet surcharge.”
The hotel was marked as only a 2 star, but I felt that was too low. It was satisfactory to me in every respect., but then I am not a demanding guest.
“Good stay.”
Staff was really nice. Price was a little high for the area. But a very nice, clean room.
“Double Check Room Feature Claims....”
The good news: the advertised wireless Internet at this hotel worked very well. That wasn't true for my just prior Expedia experience so I was very relieved that this advertised feature worked. The not so good news: the "kitchenette" also advertised here means the standard coffee maker and a small refrigerator. That was an unpleasant surprise. The free breakfast did have protein (hard boiled eggs) and the hotel is next door to a Burger King. It is also very convenient to the fairgrounds, though parking could be a concern for trucks hauling trailers. Room was very clean and comfortable.
“Needs Maintenance”
The staff was friendly. However, every time we needed something we had to wait several minutes, because no one was ever at the front desk. I do have to give the one of the staff members credit, because he was very helpful and prompt when I asked for something. The hotel condition wasn't the greatest. Several window screens were torn, the hot tub was broken, the bathroom near the pool was always dirty, and every business around the hotel had nicely manecured grounds except the hotel. The grass was dead and several feet tall. I was tempted to switch to the nearby competiting hotel across the parking lot and pay a little more. Unless they do a serious makeover, I will not recommend this hotel.
