“Good value & location”

The name may be a little misleading; the Scottfield is not what I would consider a place to recommend to executives whose company is paying the tab. But it appears to have had significant renovation recently, and it meets my basic requirements: a clean room and a good, clean bed. I don't usually spend a lot of time in the room when I travel, so most amenities are not particularly meaningful to me. The two amenities I think they should improve are the towels and the shampoo. The towels were what I would expect at Motel 6, and the shampoo smelled like something I'd rather not put on my hair. If you're as picky as I am, carry your own towel and shampoo - and enjoy the value.

“Clean, Decent, and Economical”

Check in was a bit cumbersome. The young lady at the desk seemed to have a bit of trouble. The key card would not open our room door. When I told the girl at the desk, she said that was the last king and would I mind a room with 2 queens. I told her if that's all she had, it would be fine. She upgraded us to a room with a jacuzzi. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, one block north to Starbuck's, one block south to Denny's. A 5 to 10 minute walk to old town and the Lost Coast Brewery. I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again.

“Nice clean comfortable place to stay”

They have updated the beds now... which are really comfortable. The outside looked a little questionable, but inside the rooms were clean and comfortable. The "full breakfast" I would not really consider to be a "full" breakfast. They offer cereal, pasteries, toast etc..

“Convenient location”

Clean room, however dirty linen found in bathroom cupboard. Handy to everything.

“Different, but nice”

Convenient to downtown Eureka--walked to restaurants and waterfront. Front desk help was great, Room was clean and beds were fine. The enhanced continental breakfast was good--biscuits & gravy was a nice touch. Only real issue was the noise: directly against the back of the hotel was a fire station. Fortunately, there were only a couple of calls, but as the window needed to be open to cool the place, it was something of an annoyance. Overall, we were quite satisfied.

“Decent hotel for the price”

Executive sounds like over the hill but its a pretty decent hotel for a few nights stay, compared to bunch of other motels in the area. Nothing fancy 'bout the hotel, rooms are clean and comfortable. Location is close to old town, has access to restuarants and attractions of old town. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.

“Decent place in DownTown Eureka. Very Friendly and Polite Staff.”

Older facility with a few qwerks but decent breakfast, big room, good location, and a staff that really seems to be glad to see you.

“Good surprise”

It doesn't look that great from outside but most rooms are updated with granite sinks, new beds and best of all, they have a microwave oven and fridge in every room. They even provide cotton swabs! Great stay and very affordable prices IF you book through Expedia :)

“old hotel - needs refurbishing”

Old - needs new carpet in rooms and halls. Seems to be in limbo due to some kind of bankruptcy filing ??!!

“Gone downhill”

I've stayed at this place before and was happy with those stays. I just stayed there at the end of September 2010 and they were undergoing a lot of renovations. So much as they did not offer some services. The exercise room was out of service along with their morning breakfast service. No compensation was offered after requesting it. I like the location since it's walking distance to the Lost Coast brewery. I'm not sure if I would even give it another try next time I'm up there for work.
