Staff were friendly and accommodating but the property itself needs a refresh. This was our 4th stay and we have always really enjoyed The Essex Resort but found the property looking tired.

There was no parking in the area of the room bldg. There was a wedding and the wedding party took over the parking and the inside sitting areas. When your paying 365.00 a night that is unacceptable

Staff is rude, In room refrigerator is broken, no hot water for showers, no manager on duty at night, was charged an extra $150 for "incidentals" upon check-in. Will NEVER stay at this hotel again.

We certainly understand that every detail is very important and are very sorry we fell short in a few areas of your stay. Please know that we take your feedback seriously and will be looking into the concerns you've raised. It is our understanding from our conversation with you that the hot water was due to the faucet not working as it should have but that you were able to get hot water and we will be looking at fixing or replacing the facet today to ensure it is operating normally. We are very sorry that the team member that you reported the issue did not listen and respond in the customer-focused approach that we would expect, this will be addressed with them. We are terribly sorry the mini-fridge froze some items, we certainly understand that it would not be your expectation nor our hope for this to happen. As is customary for resort properties like ours, a 50 per night authorization is collected upon check in to provide a line of credit for any additional charges during your stay. For an Expedia reservation like yours, this would have been applied to cover the resort fee and any additional charges from the spa, restaurants, or lobby café & gift shop. Should the expected charges go beyond the 50/night amount, an additional hold is automatically taken to ensure funds are available to collect the projected balance due. The hold is released upon check-out when the balance is collected but may take a few days to finalize on online banking. We're committed to making necessary improvements and hope to have the opportunity to restore your faith in our hotel and hospitality. Been a few times over the years. The place is beginning to look dated and the food has slipped quite a bit. The dining experience is incredibly unimpressive we were given a summer menu in January. I had asked if this was correct and it was… for a “culinary” retreat priced the way it is this is alone is ridiculous. I’m betting Sysco is their primary supplier as the menus are ubiquitous and bland. There are however excellent restaurants in the area that I’d recommend checking out instead.

Most service staff was great. The reception at the spa was the only person encountered with poor service. She rolled her eyes at my adult daughters who asked questions about the spa, pool, processes. She was not helpful with explaining or offering foot wear/lockers. It was only when I came back out did she treat them with respect.

I adored this hotel! I will definitely return to stay here anytime I’m visiting Burlington. Everyone who worked there were a pleasure to be around, the junction and tavern restaurants were excellent, and the hotel itself was so cozy and inviting. Could not recommend this place more!

Joli endroit pour rester en famille. Deux choses : la chambre on a trouvé des poils de chien sur la couverture du lit. Et en hiver, il faut sortir pour avoir accès à la grande piscine. Quelques travaux de renovation serait bien pour le plafond de la piscine. Mais le lieu est très sympa et je le recommande pour un séjour en famille. Ambiance campagne.

Overall ok stay. The pool and hot tub were great. On the other hand, We waited over an hour to get extra pillows when my kids were ready to go to bed. Also, I would be curious about the smoking policy. Our suite and hallway reeked of marijuana smoke for two days. Even my kids joked they were going to get high! I don’t understand how this is tolerated by the hotel- people smoking cigarettes would get a hefty fee.

When ever anyone asked us where we stayed and i tell them, they say oh that fancy place. I saw nothing fancy. It was nice. A regular room with a bed , tv, normal bathroom. The price was good, $126.....until,we checked out. T hey charges us another $33 for tax for the amenities they have on the property. Well, i didnt use them. Inwas at the hotel for a total of 14 hours. Which 8 were spent sleeping. I wont be staying here again.

I attempted to reach out the the property a few times about the amount of ants in my room. I do have videos of them as there were that many, a return to my emails would have been nice. I did enjoy my stay despite the ants but will probably not return.
