Generally OK. The room would do with some refreshing as the walls rather stained all around. The BIG no no was the receptionist who gave me misleading information about the local Pharmacy. I was told there would be nothing opened until 10:00am, but when I decided to find one myself there was quite a few opened already at 8:30. Very poor

Stayed here before. Location great for city, shopping, U Bahn. Rooms are functional and not overlarge..very clean and comfortable. Good range of breakfast options [buffet style in a cafeteria setting]] and early opening time for those that need an early start. Car park under hotel with lift access...I think it is run by a separate company but there is an option for hotel guests to cap the charges for overnight stay. Amazing value in this location because not everyone [like us] wants the pool/gym excesses. Staff think that "Premier Inn" or similar might be taking over [rumour unconfirmed] and this hotel seems to tick all their boxes very well. We'll be back here again.

There was mold on the tiles in the bathroom, staff was not helpful at all ! We stayed for 6 nights and every night our room key did not work so we would have to go to the desk to get a new key card. Every night the staff at the reception said they would look into fixing it but never did. I will not stay here again!

The breakfast was very nice, the hotel is clean and close to transportation. I didnt like the fact you need to pay to print your boarding pass.

We liked the location in the square and the easy access to public transport. The hotel appeared to be very well-managed. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide range of food and drink.

Venue was over booked and as such they couldn't give me the room types that i specifically booked. We ended up using a fold out bed in one of the rooms.

Stopped in essen because it was close to gelsencirchen for the football. Hotel was good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable with good showers. Breakfast was fine

The staff made the stay pleasurable
It is a business hotel with functional rooms. Spacious enough but not large. The reception and bar staff were unusually friendly. They made the stay pleasurable.

Nice and clean and good stay at hotel
It was good stay, excellent service. Only thing I would say let this down was parking you have no choice but to pay €11 parking cost. Also breakfast is not a full breakfast it’s only a small buffet. But overall was a nice hotel and staff

Friendly staff, comfortable beds.
We arrived late on our way from a horrendous Eurotunnel experience and the staff was super flexible about check-in and helped us find parking. Easy to check in and out, the room was nice, the breakfast was fine. All good.

Bed is uncomfortable. Room can get too hot. Desk light didn't work. Phone (for wake up calls) didn't work. But the staff was friendly. (Except for double charging for laundry). I think it needs to be better managed.

Great location but very basic option
To be honest having stayed in other hotels I was a little disappointed. The room felt crowded because of an extra bed, which wasn't as comfy as the main bed. At least we had great pillows. Very basic room facilities look quite fatigued. Room cleanliness was ok. Many things in the bathroom looked dirty because of yellow stains, which probably was just engraved dirt, impossible to remove. No restaurant on the premises so we had to go out to have a warm meal. The breakfast buffet (included in price) was very basic and I struggled to find something I would like to eat, especially ham type meats looked very cheap and processed. In my opinion, this hotel is just a basic, economical option for a quick stay. It wasn't bad, but we are not likely to return when you can have better facilities for the same price.

Nice hotel in a good location
Excellent choice for a game show at the Messe, as the Ubahn stop was only a block away. Mall was also a block away, so good location.
