“Nice hotel in Ensenada!”
Hotel was nice. Clean and great service. There was small construction going on at the entrance of the hotel, but it was not too bad. It should look great after its done.
“Great hotel”
The san nicolas hotel exceeded all my expectations. The room was very clean and spacious and had a great balcony. The service was outstanding and the people very friendly. The pool area is awesome and the resturaunt is very nice. Its very convinient because the guys at the front desk can set up day trips and tours for you, there is also a hertz rental car representative at the hotel if you need a car. The hotel is only three blocks from the tourist areas downtown making it very convenient. I will definately stay there again,
“I Love This Place”
It's not the newest or most modern but...It's got that old world charm, it"s very clean, it's very quiet, it's very safe (includes 24 hour secure parking),it's 2 blocks from the start of all the restaurants and clubs, it's 2 blocks from the ocean, it has an olympic style pool and...the price is half of those that are "new and modern". What more could one ask?

The staff was very helpful. I speak almost no Spanish but an English speaking employee would be quickly summoned when needed. The Casino employees and patrons were very friendly and helped me with the machines. The waterfront and market was only a short walk. Next time I go I will spend more time and explore more of the town.
“A little out of date, but very clean and friendly staff.”
The hotel is a little run down, but it is going through much needed renovations. Even though the beds weren't comfortable, the linens were clean. Best of all the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Nice hotel with some good ammenities; lobby bar and restaurant, casino, large swiming pool. Lot of restaurants around the hotel.
“overall, great stay and great hotel”
Everything was above-average, the check-in was quick and easy. Hotel was close to downtown. One minor problem was that the walls were pretty thin....you could hear what was happening next door. We booked in non-smoking and you could still smell years of old cigarette stench, it didn't bother me, but my wife was kinda annoyed by it....great pool
“It's Okay”
The hotel is in a location where you have to drive to get to the centro. That can be good if you don't want to be near the center noise and congestion (it really isn't that noisy in Ensenada), but a hassle and possibly dangerous if you have to drive back and forth to the centro. I say dangerous because one typically wants to have some drinks in the centro. Besides the danger of drinking and driving, Ensenada Police often set up sobriety checks along the way. That happened to me. Whether I'm close to being drunk or not, I hate the checks. Ensenada in general is really hurting. It was a ghost town on New Years Eve. I do like it being more tranquilo though. That's why one goes to Ensenada instead of TJ. Service was good. Pool and jacuzzi were too cold for me in winter. I didn't eat there. Room was spacious and very nice. Overall, a good one night stop on the way down Baja because of ample, secure parking. Not somewhere to go if you want to hang out in the centro.
“good buy for the price”
the location is excellent for the traveler. the casino was fun also. the service was good. the restaurant wasn't a good choice. Here's a hint travelers: if there is no one in the restaurant, chances are, it's not good eats...you decide.
