Hi there Laurie. We sincerely apologize for your experience.The group that was outside is a work crew that has been with us for several weeks now and will be staying for several months. They had a small get together with a little music and some football to help unwind from the extremely hot, humid and long week that they have experienced. This crew has been nothing but kind and courteous to all of our other guests. Unfortunately, you did not make contact with the front desk to see if we could have moved you into another area / room and only found out that you departed by this review. Leaving and writing a review without even attempting to contact staff about your concerns does not allow us to attempt to resolve any issues and we truly regret not being able to assist you by making it right. As for feeling safe, our hotel is one of the most secure hotels in the area. With our live-on-property staff as well as constant patrols from both the Franklin County Sheriff's Office and the Ottawa KS Police Department we rarely have any troubles.If you decided at any time in the future to stay with us, please let us know your concerns and allow us a chance to assure you that this is a safe place and we're more than happy to assist with any issues you may have.

Hi Merle. We sincerely apologize for the issues that you experienced with us during your stay. Unfortunately, your room had to be upstairs and it's not that we "would" not provide a main floor room, it's that we COULD not. When there is no other availability for a lower-level room, we have no other choice but to place guests in our upstairs room. We also apologize for your inconvenience from the A/C. Now unfortunately due to the rising costs of electricity and other utility rates, we are forced to keep our a/c's turned off while rooms are not occupied as this helps us keep our current rates lower for guests which are currently some of the lowest rates in the area. We appreciate your understanding and wish you the best.
