“Great place to stay”

This was only a stopover traveling through Nevada. We wanted someplace clean, comfortable and inexpensive. It was a little more than we wanted to pay, but it was worth it. It was clean and updated nicely. My kids wanted to swim, but the pool was ice cold in August. They decided to pass. Otherwise, good place to call it a night.

“Retro Bargain”

I had a one-night stop in Elko, and discovered the Thunderbird Motor Inn through Expedia. I was pleasantly surprised at the comfortable room - great price! Two Basque restaurants are within walking distance. The motel backs up to a residential area where I walked my dog. The retro exterior and sign are neat.

“have re-booked for our return trip home”

Rate was very good. Room was clean and staff very helpful in suggesting a nice place to eat dinner. The only drawback was that there was a strong odor of smoke in the room we booked as non-smoking.

“More than I hoped for”

The Thunderbird was a great place to stay. The staff was friendly, the room was very clean, the grounds were quiet. We stayed three nights, and it was more than I expected.

“Nice Place”

Stayed two nights. Hotel is nice and clean. Good place to stay in Elko. Only downside is that there is no breakfast offered or available in the hotel.

“Would Stay Again”

Great value - Hotel is older but well kept up. Staff was amazingly efficient.

“Fine for a night if you are travelling through”

Clean and convenient for the railway station. If you arrive by train ask the guard on the train to phone for a taxi to meet the train. We used our breakfast token at the Gold County Casino and had a good breakfast. Don't trust the shuttle service to get you anywhere on time. You can't book it ahead and we nearly missed our bus because we were told the shuttle was just about to arrive when it was actually waiting at the airport.

“What a Dump”

A run down old property that I had confused with another place that was not so bad. Horrible part of a not very nice town to begin with. Listed as pet friendly but no where to take a dog for a walk unless you are OK with driveways and parking lots covered with broken glass. I would skip Elko all together next time, push on through to West Wendover.
