“pleasant surprise”
When this hotel was affiliated with another chain, we had to settle with small annoyances (such as thin towels) but now it's on par with more expensive inns. Everything is up-to-date in Elko!!
“What a pleasant surprise !!!!”
We were not expecting much after our last experience in Kalispel, MT. Were we surprised at what we walked into in The Gold Country Hotel and Casino in Elko, NV. Everything was great, the room was spacious, The bed was very comfortable, the shower has a massager spray that really helped my neck and back after a long ride. Next time we head east we will stay here for our first night and not in smokey Boomtown hotel room.....
“Great place to stay in Elko NV”
Nice and clean with a very friendly atmosphere. We were travelling with our dog and they gave him a dog biscuit.
“Nice staff”
Everyone we dealt with, from the front desk to the restaurant staff, to the manager that had to mail home a forgotten item was so helpful. Not just fake friendly customer service but really truly friendly. Our kids had fun in the pool and they really are pet friendly.
“Pleasantly surprised”
We stayed here for only one quick night and found it to be nicer than expected. The room was spacious and well appointed and the value was super. Would have rated it with all "5s" except for the ankle deep water ponding in the shower tub and the heavy smell of smoke at the check-in desk.
“Comfortable and clean”
Only negatives were minor spots on carpet; message light blinking when we arrived and not turned off; and smokey lobby
“Not the Best!”
While the staff at the hotel was very nice and helpful, the grounds, rooms, and pool area left a lot to be desired. Our room smelled, the air conditioner broke and we had to be moved. To make matters worse, the pool area was dirty and very run down and there were only a few chairs to accomodate a huge amount of people. I would definetly pick somewhere else to stay next time, even if I had to pay more money!
“Will give a second chance”
The hotel was pretty full, so I was unable to get a nonsmoking room. Pretty unpleasant smelling old cigarette smoke. Additionally the so called "business office" consisted of one computer in the lobby which did not have printer access. Stretching this pretty far to call it a business office.
“Not bad”
The only complaint that I really have was the condition of the carpet which needs either a serious cleaning or new carpet. The bathroom was clean and the water pressure was good. Bed was comfortable as well.
“A place to sleep,....with the door bolted.”
There is no such thing as a non-smoking room at this motel. So, if you dont like the stench of ciggarettes, don't stay here. If I were alone it would have been acceptable, but I had the family. Not a good family environment. I should have choose a trusted national name.
