“Excellent service, very friendly staff and very comfortable stay”
For the price we paid this was a really fantastic stay. The staff were very professional and friendly on arrival and all through our stay. The hotel has clearly been recently refurbished and alot of effort had gone into this. The furnishings were modern without being garish and there were lots of nice touches that picked up on the local heritage. The beds were really comfy an although the room was a little small, it had everything we needed. Breakfast was lovely and alot of thought had gone into making the menu healthy, tasty and offering local produce. We were up for a wedding at another hotel nearby, but said were we to have the opportunity to visit Elgin again we would definitely stay at 8 Acres. An added bonus was the pool/sauna/jacuzzi.
“Comfortable, clean accommodation”
Relaxing stay, nice-sized room, enjoyed the leisure facilities. We would return.
“Hotel Okay”
Hotel not too bad for a hotel in that price category and I was only staying one night. Had a slight problem with the attitude of one of the bar staff however when I complained to the management it was sorted out to my satisfaction. Would stay again but wouldn't be my first choice in the Elgin area
“Dont't Stay Here!”
Arrived 9:30pm (I phoned ahead to advise). Nobody on reception. Waited 5 minutes then had to go and find someone. Room so small you couldn't swing a chinchilla in there, let alone a cat. Completely missmatched decor (even the woodchip wallpaper was mismatched). Veneer peeling of cheap old wardrobe. No mobile phone reception from room. Hotel wifi was poor quality in room so I couldn't use it. Breakfast - ordered sausage and eggs and got bacon and eggs. Guest on table next to me waited for about 5 minutes and asked passing staff member if he could get a cup of tea. Staff member grunted something then just walked away and he had to wait to be served by someone else. Definitely will NOT stay here again.
