Very enjoyable close and convenient to many places on Whyte Ave. An overall very fine place to stay will be especially fun in the summer when walking and sitting on Whyte would be very enjoyable.

I have stayed at the Varscona several times and continue to go back each time I visit Edmonton. The service is excellent especially for the moderate price. It is great being right in the heart of Whyte Ave and being able to walk to all my favourite places.

“Location location location!”

The Varscona isn't a big fancy hotel, but it's right on Whyte Ave, which is my favourite area in Edmonton. There's lots of restaurants, shops and bars and it's close to the river valley, the university and the farmer's market. This is a reasonably priced hotel in the best part of the city. The room was small, but clean. The view wasn't great, but really, it's all about location! The staff were friendly, the wireless internet actually worked great and I love that there's a coffee shop right downstairs. There was only valet parking at the hotel and traffic is a little cramped in the area, but personally, I was happy to park my car with them and walk or take the bus. Also, keep in mind that this is a fun, active part of town, and there are a lot of bars on Whyte Ave. So, on a Saturday night (especially in the summer) be prepared to tolerate the noisy people on the street, or better yet, join them!!

The room was clean and well-serviced. There's a very nice coffee shop in the lobby of the hotel and an excellent restaurant as well. The staff were polite and very capable. For my needs, the location of the hotel was perfect. I would definitley stay at this hotel again.

“Lovely Hotel Varscona”

This hotel is very nice. Very affordable and very clean. A true value for the leisure traveler or business traveler. Quite rooms, with many ameneties such a turn down service with a plush robe laid out for you on the bed. A freshly packaged cookie for a midnight snack. The room is warmly lit and my room was equipped with a Bose stereo. The bath had Aveda products for my use. The water pressure was good in the shower and the bathroom was spotless. A great restaurant serves breakfast through dinner. This hotel sits in a great neighborhood with many exciting shops and restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel!

“Close to Lululemon, shopping and pubs!”

this hotel was a great choice. we were close to shopping, food, pubs, transit, etc. the room was clean, yet a little small. the hotel provided a free breakfast as well. there is also a coffee shop downstairs. the staff was great and friendly. we would stay here again for SURE!
