Ice was only available on two floors and they never mention that to you while checking in. They also had key cards that stopped working the moment you bring it near a phone, so I had to exchange it multiple times. The rooms were very clean however and spacious. Parking wasn’t free which was also a little disappointing.

Being a downtown hotel, the parking services at the hotel are available for our guests to avail at a per night cost. I assure you that the charges at Sandman are very competent to other hotels in the close vicinity. Apparently the hotel doesn’t own the parking lot & we only facilitate this service for our guests. The amount charged is the actual cost to the hotel for the parking. We sincerely hope for your continued patronage.Regards

It was close in location to walk inside all the way to the oilers game. The bed was comfy. However, we didn’t like the extremely slow elevator. This is no exaggeration, I travel often and have never seen or experienced this before. There was a line up of people waiting to take one of three elevators up the their rooms and it was a loong line up! Secondly the parking situation was also a bit disappointing, we mistakenly paid at the vestibule at the parkade. So it would have been nice if they said hey no worries we got you. Let us comp you the parking and your all covered. Instead the guy said oh I’m sorry I’ll have to charge you an additional $28 for the parking. We were like whoa what!!? He said don’t worry, there’s an app, for the parking and you can get up at 6am to extend your parking! (Well what a great night away! No sleep in for us!) he also forgot to mention that when we had an alarm go off at 6am to extend our parking, the app charged us $37!!!! WOW! So if your looking for a place near the oilers game, then sure, if you have tons of extra time to wait in enormous lines to just get to your room, then sure, if you don’t want good customer service then sure, this is the hotel for you.

Property is fabulous but gave the area a 1-star because of the addicts doing drugs close by. My little children witness a guy OD & shouldn’t have witnessed this. Clearly the downtown core needs security to get addicts away from a tourist area! Sad to see the suffering but kids shouldn’t be seeing this IMO.

Stayed for a hockey game. Because there was a game, the hotel jacks the prices way up from what it should be. The room was VERY dated. Apparently fitted sheets are not a thing anymore. The shower head wasn't installed proper so it was shooting water towards the ceiling and wall, most likely gonna be mold behind the tub surround. The hot water tap was leaking when it, or the cold water was turned on. The couch had a pretty gross looking stain on it. Only one coffee cup and 1 housecoat for a 2 person reservation. No towels at the pool when we were there. The cabinet with the fridge in it has a disgusting musty smell when it was opened. For the price of an Uber,, I can't see myself staying here again when there are way nicer hotels for significantly less in the area.

Check in was at 3. We arrived at 4:30 and had to wait an hour for our room to be ready. I was not offered any VIP upgrades and was given a $20 credit to use in Chop. Which really probably was my VIP perk. I will not stay at this hotel again if I can help it.

We try our best when the hotel is full from the night before to turn rooms around as quickly as possbible, which also depends on the previous guest that occupying the room as well. Event / concert dates due tend to be quite busy.

Staff did not inform me of the additional parking cost and simply presented me a bill upon checkout. When i indicated that no one told me of the cost for parking, the staff simply said "Sorry about that" and then overcharged me.
