“Fabulous”

Step back in time and stay at the Mac. It is a great meeting of old and new. The gardens make you feel like you are out in the country rather than downtown in a big city.

“Fairmont Hotel Macdonald”

The hotel is a beautifully restored historic building, the staff we met were fantastic, and although the hotel was fully booked during our stay they went above and beyond to provide us with an early check in. Definately would recommend this hotel.

“Lovely place, even in a near tornado.”

My only concern was the ignorance of the front desk staff on public transit. While taxis are always available, sometimes it is nice to use transit to get a closer-to-the-ground look at a city.

“Look forward very much to staying there again soon, and I am!”

This is a fabulous hotel. The rooms and ambience of the hotel is wonderful. It is in a prime location downtown overlooking the river valley. The food in the restraunt was great. The rooms are beautiful. The atmosphere is very restful and peaceful. The staff so friendly. The offered rates were also considerably better than at other 4 to 5 star hotels in the city. Will definately stay there again.

“Great Choice”

The hotel was a great choice. We stayed here for a conference and the rooms were lovely and the conference room was gorgeous. It was also walking distance to some nice restaurants. The shampoo and conditioner was bad and left my hair full of static. The hotel should look into this. And parking wasn't great. At $26 for self-parking and $30 for valet per night, it was a bit costly. The parkade wasn't even connected to the hotel. Overall, though, the hotel was a very nice choice and we would definitely stay there again.

“Above and Beyond!”

This was an overnight stay to celebrate my sisters birthday. The hotel staff spoiled us with a beautiful room overlooking the river and a plate of fresh fruit and chocolates. It was unexpected and so appreciated. I can't wait to go back!

“What's Not To Love”

The hotel was beautiful and the staff were wonderful. Our bathroom door was a little fussy about locking at times but I can live with that. Loved the hote. And the breakfast was wonderful as well.

“Easy access to shopping, dining, and nice walks”

The hotel had high quality amenities including restaurants, a spa, and a gym. The service was great. The television was a large LCD panel. The bathroom was somewhat cramped. There was a night light within the room that could not be turned off, which was a bit disruptive to sleeping. Remember to register for the Fairmont President's Club before you go to receive their internet service. One great thing is that the hotel is located in the heart of the downtown area, with nice restaurants located within a few blocks. There is a movie theatre and mall close by. Going to the West Edmonton Mall is also a breeze as there are 2 buses and an express bus that takes under 30 minutes. You can also walk to Old Strathcona area easily.
