Nice hotel right near amenities.

It was good but the train was close and really loud before bed. But then we seemed to sleep well so it must only run during the day.

Convenient hotel with easy access to highways

Posted 17-Oct-2014
Pros: The complimentary breakfast was good, with a good variety of standard breakfast items and fruits (opens at 6:30). Close parking (if early).
Cons: Outside-facing rooms facing north take the full brunt of massive parking lot floodlights. Even with the blackout blinds pulled, you can still see it.
Location: Located right at Whitemud Dr and Gateway Blvd. However, getting onto Whitemud is a bit of an adventure at rush hour (aka impossible).
Overall, not a bad experience. Checked in early and got an outside-facing room on the 3rd floor about equidistant from the highway in the front and the railroad tracks in the back. The room was clean but strangely, the toiletries were all coated with a layer of dust (perhaps drywall dust...?). Otherwise, the room was in good condition, with multiple chairs and a good sized table. For those looking to stay here, ask for a room facing the inside of the building. You won't get a view (which honestly isn't much, since you're going to be looking at either parking lots, highway, or railroads), but it'll be quieter since you'll be away from the road noise (which doesn't really stop on Gateway Blvd). Also, parking can become a bit of an issue if you're the type that likes to go back and forth between your car for luggage; at night, the lot fills up fast and you might end up trekking around the building, which while well lit, is still a bit inconvenient.

Not a bad hotel, but could be better

Posted 5-Sep-2014
Room was half clean, no fridge or microwave had to request. Finally get one and try to use it the power goes away. Nothing else on to have tripped the breaker. Just a not that good time there

Nice hotel well located in Edmonton South

Posted 4-Sep-2014
Pros: We especially appreciated the excellent hot breakfast buffet and the free Wi-Fi. The staff were exceptionally accomodating and pleasant as well.
Cons: Parking spots were sometimes an issue.
Location: The location on a busy highway with the railroad just behind is not particularly pleasant, but close to big box stores and Old Strathcona market, etc.
We stayed four nights and found it good value, well located between the Airport and Old Strathcona where we were visiting family. The first night we lacked an alarm clock but this was quickly corrected when reported.

Good

Posted 2-Sep-2014
Pros: Close to transit
Cons: The hallways (ie bits of paper, do not disturb signs lying on the floor). Somebody should be picking this kind of stuff up.
Location: Lots of restaurants near by
Was a nice hotel to stay at. Front desk was efficient but a bit abrupt. The room was clean - didn't have a fridge but we requested one and it was delivered right away. Nice to have breakfast included and it was a good buffet.
