Sawridge Hotel

Posted 16-Apr-2014
Pros: I liked the location. I was attending a conference nearby.
I didn't know what to expect upon my arrival as this was my first stay. I was pleasantly surprised by the design and arrangement of the foyer. I felt welcomed and intrigued to explore further. The room was clean and nicely furnished.

Very nice hotel, beautiful inside and out room was spotless and in great condition. Hotel is near train tracks, but noise was never an issue. A little complicated to reach because of location on busy one-way street, but no real problem.

Edmonton moving trip

Posted 2-Apr-2014
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: hallway carpet very bumpy....made moving the trolly with all the stuff on it a little cumbersome
Location: located close to large shopping mall and many restaurants
I looked on-line for a hotel that would accept pets, and the Sawridge Inn was one listed and I chose it. I was travelling to Edmonton from Vancouver with 2 cats, and the Inn was perfect for my needs. I also had to part my vehicle pulling a trailer, and there was ample parking available

Satisfactory hotel, close to sports facility.

Pros: One bedroom suite was great.
Location: Located in South Edmonton. Very close to shopping and recreation activities.
Our suite was very spacious. A little noisy because of the train tracks behind the hotel. Restaurant service was very slow.

Staff were amazing... Rooms were just alright.

We got a two queen room it had one window that overlooked the lounge/restaurant, it was not very private as ppl could see into our room from where they were eating and there was no natural light. The staff were the best I have experienced thus far.

Close to shopping and restaurants

Posted 11-Mar-2014
Pros: Location and size of rooms
Cons: Sheets are rough, too much money for incidentals
Location: Very close to South Commons with tons of shopping, restaurants and movies. Close to Old Strathcona.
This is my second stay at the Sawridge to visit a friend that lives in Edmonton. I love the spacious rooms and the proximity of the hotel to dining and shopping. This trip I was right next to the elevator which was a bit noisy and the only issue I ever have with the room (this trip and the last) is that the sheets are rough. The bed is always comfortable, but for some reason the sheets are a rougher texture. Also, I prepaid my trip on Expedia, yet instead of a $100-$150 incidental hold on my credit card they put almost $300 for incidentals. It cleared out in a few days, but still a bit much for incidentals. There is also a lot of traffic coming in and out on the street to the hotel. Not a bad place to stay for a reasonable price. The bar down stairs is nice and comfortable.

Just Okay

Posted 17-Feb-2014
Pros: Excellent front staff.
Cons: Cleanliness, proper and regular maintenance on rooms, standard modern amenities.
We looked forward to our stay from the pictures provided. The staff were very welcoming and pleasant. The smell in the room was horrible. It was like a pine tree mixed with a floral smell and it was strong. The tub surround was not clean and there was an extreme soap scum build-up around the soap holder. The caulking around the tub was cracked and had a brown scum on it, it appeared as though the acrylic tub had been broken and patched (badly). There was no fridge in the room, this is a basic amenity found in most all rooms in modern hotels. The décor is a bit dated but the bed was comfortable and the chair and ottoman as well. Great potential but lack of basic cleanliness and amenities were very disappointing.

Average Hotel

Posted 17-Feb-2014
Pros: Through Expedia
Cons: Hire more staff. Clear parking lot as soon as it snows rather then letting it to become ice.
Pros: Excellent food in the restaurant Cons: Terrible service in the restaurant. Looks like short on staff. Too close to the railway track and can be noisy. You can hear dogs barking in the hotel. Pillows are too high. Parking lot had lots of bumps due to frozen ice on the ground. Can damage car if not careful.
