“STAFF”

INCREDIBLE FRONT STAFF AND HELPED ME WITH MY CONCERNS WITH EXPEDIA AND HELPING ME TO CALL THEM SINCE NEEDED A BILL FOR PROOF OF STAY.

Area recommendations

DIDN'T GO ANYWHERE ONLY TO MY WORKSHOPS- LOVED THE BUS SHUTTLE BUS TO THE HOTEL.

“Customer service saves trip”

Our paperwork was not processed on time. When my wife went to check in we were downgraded from our original on-line choice. When I learned of this late in my business day my complaint to Expedia was routed back to a customer service rep who got us into our chosen room type. These efforts and the service attitude put my opinion of this hotel back at the top.

“Just average.”

We stayed here for just one night to go to a conference being held on the property. Nothing about our stay was bad, but nothing stood out either. The staff were courteous. The room was hot and the thermostat didn't work. The mattress was comfortable. You could hear bathroom noise in all the rooms around us. Overall, just average, but a convenient location and not too pricey.

“Clean but needs some improvements”

Stayed here a few years ago and again this past weekend. The rooms are clean and lobby was nice - good restaurant. But they were still dealing with issues with the hot water and the heating system in the room was really loud. Linens were clean and new but the bed was hard.

“Great service and room.”

Mary at the front desk is fantastic. We upgraded once we got there to the newer tower and it was worth the extra money. The only downside of this hotel is the pool. Far from the rooms and not worth the walk. If you don't need a pool then it is great!

“upgrade to a suite”

We have stayed at the Mayfield before, the staff there is over the top friendly and helpful ( Their Canadians!!). We originally stayed in the regular hotel part which is part of the package thru expedia. We upgraded to a 2 room suite. Beautiful!!. Lots of room, great bed and pillows. We will definantly stay there again...with an upgrade

Area recommendations

Edmonton is a very Industrial city, much of it is oil related. The downtown river valley is beautilful. The North Saskachewan River winds thru it. And Edmonton has the most beautiful skyline at night. Edmontons economy is booming because of the oil, so be prepared for sticker shock. They are making great money so the prices reflect that. A great East Indian restaurant is a short way from the Mayfield called Guru and for breakfast go to Coras.. they have three fruit chefs to make these incredible sculptures on each plate fabulous!!

“Cool place to stay.”

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was outstanding as was our suite. A little mixup with Expedia but no harm done. We just upgraded once we were there. I would recommend this hotel anytime. It compares with a lot of the upscale hotels that we have stayed at.
