“Best hotel in edmonton”

“Edmonton on a Budget”

I've been staying at this property on and off for a few years, it offers a good value for the dollar and if you have been traveliong to Edmonton for some time you will know that hotel rates have gone up 25/30% over the past 2 years, add to that the shift in the exchange rate and your time in Edmonton is getting expensive. The good news is that they have been refurnishing and up garding the rooms with new bedes, TV's and remodeled baths, the bad news is that you may hae to put up with the noise of the demolition during the day and into the early evening. Also although the rooms are now much nicer they haven't touched the rest of the facility which could use a freshining up also.

“Suited our needs”

We were in Edmonton for a dance competition and this hotel was only a short drive from the venue. The lobby and rooms were very nice. The hall ways leading to the rooms were a bit jail inspired with low ceilings and cinder block walls. Room was nice, clean with great toiletries. Only complaint would be maybe they could invest in some thicker bedding. For being in Edmonton in the late fall winter it would have been nicer to have a warm comforter instead of a foamy type blanket and a bedspread that really wasn't more than a sheet. We were warm enough but only cause the heat was on a bit higher. Overall good value for the money and close to West Ed mall and lots of restaurants as long as you have a car or don't mind taking transit for a couple of blocks.

“Clean room”

Clean room, but the hotel looks a bit aged, especially the carpet stains in the hallways. Staff was friendly. For what we needed it was as expected and like every hotel I've ever been in, the Wi-Fi was terrible. I'd stay there again, but I would never eat breakfast in the restaurant again. Food was way over cooked, cream was off, and generally too much money for the quality. Denny's is across the street which would have been a safer bet.

“Nice Hotel”

My wife and I stayed at the Executive Royal for the Thanksgiving weekend along with her parents. The building is clean and well maintained. Our room appeared to have been renovated recently, beds were very comfortable, nice shower and the fridge was very handy.

“Horrible Stay!!!!”

This was one of the worst hotel stays my wife and I have ever had. We arrived to find no soaps, shampoo, etc. in the bathroom. The fridge, we discovered the next day, was not working and everything that we had put into it was unusable. Our phone was not working (we could call out but were not able to receive incoming calls), and we were expecting a call from our daughter. The front desk sent up a "security" person who pretended to know what he was doing. He pulled out cords, examined the phone, etc., and by the time he was finished, we could not even call out now - the phone was completely useless. To add insult to injury, he assured us that a new phone would be installed the next day. We came back late the next day (after 6 pm), and the phone was still not working!!!! Management said all kinds of "We're so sorry", but that's all they did - just words! Finally, the room, hallways, etc. were not in good condition. Carpets did not look clean and appeared threadbare. We will never stay in this hotel, or any associated with this hotel company again.

“I would recommend this hotel”

I found the hotel clean and the staff helpful. If you like shopping this hotel is located close to the West Edmonton Mall. While I was there they were redoing all the rooms but it didn't interfer with the way the hotel was run.There are many restaurants to choose from that are within in walking distance

Area recommendations

I'm not sure what to recommend, as I didn't really go for touring. I would recommend Whyte Ave to see all there unique shops.

It was close to West Edmonton Mall. It took less than 5 minutes to get there.
