“No frills, but clean and serviceable”

This hotel is pretty basic and generic, but it suited my purposes well enough. It's in a fairly ugly, commercial part of town and I had a view of a junkyard out of my window. The free continental breakfast provided is likewise very basic and self-serve. My room was clean, though, and comfortable enough, and the staff were friendly and helpful. So, not a good choice for a romantic getaway, but not bad if you are on a budget and are a practical, no frills kind of person.

“Great Choice for the Budget Conscious”

The hotel boasts a great (i.e., convenient) location, close to main roadways but surprisingly quiet. Our trip to Edmonton was for a family gathering, and the hotel honored our request for three rooms clustered together. The rooms were serviceable--nothing special, but clean and well maintained. The service, however, was simply excellent: the housekeeping staff created towel sculptures (swans, etc.), and the front desk offered free cookies all day long. Breakfast was complimentary, and the evening we arrived there was free wine and cheese available!

“Stay at the Days Inn”

My daughter really loved the cookies at the desk when you checked in. Great selection for breakfast. Staff was very courtious to you every time you entered or left the hotel. Were interested in what you were doing in Edmonton as well. Ready to give you more suggestions.

“Great Value, Friendly Staff”

we enjoyed our stay at the days inn, very pleasant staff, great value for the price, scenery around the hotel is lacking, but it is nice that it is in walking distance to Old Strathcona. Also it fairly close to the river. the breakfast is okay, we have had better, We would stay here again.

“THE WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED IN”

TRAVELLER BEWARE! I DIDN'T SLEEP BECAUSE OF A FAULTY AND EXTREMELY NOISY AIR-CONDITIONER JUST OUTSIDE MY WINDOW ATTACHED TO THE WALL. AT 4.30 AM, THE PERSON AT THE DESK ALL BUT IGNORED MY REQUEST TO SEE TO IT. AT ABOUT 4.45, I GOT DRESSED AND WENT OUT TO SEE IF THE UNIT COULD BE TURNED OFF FROM OUTSIDE. NO JOY. EVENTUALLY GOT ABOUT 3 HOURS SLEEP, MISSED BREAKFAST. GOT THE WORST DISMISSIVE RESPONSE TO MY COMPLAINT (5 TIMES I CALLED AND THE MANAGER WAS NEVER THERE). OFFERED $30 TO GO AWAY. PLAIN FACT: I WAS SIMPLY NOT BELIEVED. TOLF HER TO KEEP HER MONEY! BE WARNED.

“Most youth are very responsible...manager/owner stereotypes young adults”

we were informed by owner/manager Zelia, that we would be charged $200 for someone getting ill in the room outside the bathroom. She said any accidents in the room would levy a $200 charge just like smoking would. Whether it be a bloody nose, or someone getting sick. She seems to micromanage the hotel through the housekeeping staff. After much discussion with her to come to a reasonable resolution (which was not easy, and we felt she did not want to listen to our side), she agreed to not charge the fee as long as we cleaned up, (which we did right away and called about it ...my mom always said to be honest), and if she did not get a noise complaint. We were there three nites and never had one complaint because we were not noisy ...so why she thought the last nite we would be? Zelia said she could not 'pin something' on us as she put it, and we are not sure why she would make such a comment or what that meant. We were upset by this comment and the threat. We felt we were being discriminated against. Just because we are young, she assumed we were partying. She said our room was full of btles but she was never in our room just housekeeping and the only bottles we had were about 14 water bottles NO liquor. Not all young kids party and make noise. It is awful to be stereotyped and then get threatened with a $200 fine for it. Will never go back. We travelled 58 nites in the summer in over 45 hotels and were never judged in this manner or ever had a complaint.
