“Great experience, excellent friendly staff, terrific location!”

A great location in the heart of downtown Edmonton, within walking distance to great shopping and entertainment. My four day stay was in July on a busy Summer weekend. The staff all went out of their way to provide any and all assistance. I had requested a "quiet" room with a river valley view and was very happy with the room I received. Valet parking is an extra but a necessity in this busy downtown location. Other local surface parking is much more expensive. It was well worth the extra fee as my vehicle was always made available within minutes and stored underground. The room was well appointed, clean, very comfortable and the bed was terrific!! Housekeeping did an excellent job. Good restaurant and bar and a lovely restaurant terrace over looking the river valley. I have travelled extensively and I will certainly stay here again!!!

“Fairly nice hotel - room was a bit poorly designed”

The staff at this hotel were always friendly and helpful, good service in the restaurant at breakfast, valet car service brought the car within 5 minutes from the parkade. The room was just OK though. The good: The bed was fine (King), good soundproofing, couldn't hear anyone else, fairly quiet AC, nice high ceilings, great view, bathroom was clean, shower had lots of pressure, the little bar fridge worked. The location was great for us, we could walk to our appointments. The breakfast buffet was quite good, certainly lots to eat and decent variety. The not so good: the toilet ran a bit, the TV was small and grainy and way off to the side of the bed; awkward to watch. There wasn't a luggage stand, and there were only 6 hangers. Usually I'd say a hotel of this quality would provide complimentary q-tips etc, it was a bit lean that way. Still, I'd recommend this hotel, the value was there for the location being right in downtown on Jasper Ave.

“Great Value for the price”

Location of Hotel is perfect for getting to Collosium (1/2 block to underground train station) View is great. Rooms are spacious and had fridge. We had a problem with our corner room being cold as it was -35 C outside, but they put in a space heater and when that was not working moved us to another room. Underground parking available but F150 too tall so had to park outside. Staff was great, restaurant food good but service was slow.

The bed was extremely uncomfortable (it was very hard). The room was also extremely cold, we had the thermostat turned up to 29 degrees and it was still cold. The TV was in an awkward position, you couldn't really watch it from the bed.

“Great deal for the price!!! Awesome location & good services.”

Needed 3 rooms and a downtown location for my daughter's grad at the Shaw Conference Centre. Room was excellent & the full buffet breakfast delicious. Was a great deal, and made sure everyone was safe after a fun night.

“Good Business Hotel”

Great business hotel. Central to everything, excellent river valley view. Close to City Hall, the Theatre, and City Centre. I didn't use the parking, but with all the parking lots around, it's hard to know whether the hotel provides parking or you are left to fend for yourself. The room was very clean, but the bed was horribly lumpy and hard. I've stayed at many other Courtyards and this was by far the worst in bed comfort.

Traveller's tip

It's a little out of the way, but a good recommended steak place would be The Keg, over on the south side of the river. It's in an area called Whyte Avenue and lots of bars, pubs, and restaurants around there. In my opinion, better value for the money then say, Lux or Ruth Chris.
