“Quiet hotel with fast Edmonton access”
Easy to find, a few blocks away from Hiway 16 (Yellowhead), which allows fast access to downtown Edmonton locations, and reasonable drives to south side or north side locations as well. Also a very short distance to Costco and Sherwood Park restaurants, shopping, etc. Offers a business centre and Internet access. Quiet, clean hotel--my usual choice for business in Edmonton. Restaurant closes early, but others available within short driving distance. Offers breakfast buffet for quick morning dine n dashes--no long waits for breakfast.
“Connected to Millenium Leisure Centre”
I loved the fact that the hotel was connected to the Millenium Leisure Centre. Great facility. I found the room a bit tired looking - bedspreads etc. but generally an okay stay. Nice having Mr. Mikes in the hotel.
“Good for business trip”
The hotel is fine, the location is a little bit out of everything but if you have a car is good for the price. Attache to the hotel there is a nice indoor waterpark if you have children and you go there in the winter. Good for the money
“Good for a Family Weekend Away”
We stayed at the Coast hotel due to the fact that is had two separate rooms, it was reasonably economical and it was attached to Millenium Place - my kids love to swim in the water park at Millennium Place and they enjoyed the free indoor park with their dad while I got ready in the morning. The rooms is basic but clean and we like the location close to Costco (for the stop on the way home). Both times I stayed there I tried to get wine glasses brought up to the room with a corkscrew (for the hubby and I) and it seemed that we were a bother and they were unable/unwilling to accomodate. I tried to order a 1/2 L wine to go with the pizza we'd ordered in and because I'd didn't have food on the same bill they couldn't send the wine...too bad but not a major stumbling block - we would stay again but would like to see their level of service improve.
“Bad breakfast.”
Everything about the hotel is great except the breakfast. It is one of the worst breakfasts I've had. The eggs looked like childrens toys. If the free breakfast is important to you then bypass this hotel. There is a Holiday Inn Express about a block away and they are known for a good breakfast.
“Nice Hotel”
The hotel was excellent however it does not have extra cots or cribs/playpens available.
“Clean and Quiet”
clean and quiet. Restaurant on site. only a $25.00 cab ride to Rexall place. good acces to many places.
“A few pros and cons”
We were attending a swim meet at Millenium Place so stayed in this hotel since it is attached to the pool. For that, it scored high - can't be more convenient, but for a normal traveller, it is a bit out of the way and in a strange location though restaurants and shopping is not too too far. The only restaurant on site is slow and over priced. There is a continental breakfast but only on week days. Our first room had no internet working and they weren't sure why (there is no wireless - hard to believe in this day and age!) so they "upgraded" us at no cost. Well the only difference is marble counters and a flat screen tv. A very plain room, as were the others I saw, for the cost. I do appreciate the willingness to make the stay work for us though, ensuring I had ability to do my work via internet. The attached Leisure Centre is amazing - families would LOVE it, but check the hours and for special closures before assuming it is open. An easy and quick (30 min) drive to West Ed Mall from here - I don't know the area at all but had no troubles finding it.
“needs work”
arrived on a friday was told friday morning wfi was working when arrived it wasn't working and not going to working the whole week end,had to go to starbucks when i needed to send or recieve info, also the toilet was not working. had to lift lid and tap the tower to get the water to work to flush the toilet.requested to get it fixed was never addressed,
“Not the best or worst”
This hotel is a bit run down. The TV is pretty old and my room wasn't cleaned everyday. We were not told that the hotel offered free hot breakfast and it's not advertised either.
