“Perfect stay”
Fabulous location, ridiculously close to the main sights, just minutes away from the Castle etc. if you want to be in the heart of Edinburgh then look no further than the Scotsman, whilst being in the royal mile you are next to the train station, fear not you hear nothing (which i still find unreal considering your on top of the train station almost.) Lovely hotel, historic building, with an archaic yet cosmopolitan feel.Fantastic service, staff could not do more for you. Spacious room, clean and tidy. Restaurant is a must, the food is devine! No real faults as such, all i would say is that the rooms are a little dated e.g the carpets / decor a bit tired, nevertheless the hotel was wonderful we will return in the future.
“Lovely hotel”
Lovely hotel, ideal central location, staff were all incredibly professional, polite and helpful. Room was spotless and extremely comfortable. Loved the bathroom. Only slight criticism is the decor of the bedroom is a bit dated. Full use of the spa and health club (although you have to pay if you want any treatments) and the restaraunt food was delicious. Would definatley stay there again and recommend to anyone looking for a little luxury.
“Great”
Staff very helpful and polite. Not too fussy. Very good hotel.
“Would go back again”
The location of the hotel was very central to all city activities making it easy to walk everywhere. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were unusually large compared to other European hotels.
“Extremely friendly and comfortable stay in the heart of Edinburgh”
We stayed at the Scotsman for a long weekend while getting married in Edinburgh. Having picked the hotel on the internet, we were delighted by the experience and particularly by the warm and friendly staff. My wife and I travel regularly and know what we like when it comes to hotels - we can't fault this one.
“great hotel just off the royal mile”
Absolutely lovely place in a great local. I was there during the festival and easy walking distance to most venues. Rooms are a bit smallish but very nicely appointed. Nicest hotel i've stayed in in edinburgh.
“Scottish Elegance”
The hotel was beautiful and the restaurant very good. The only drawback was the beautiful sunny weather we experienced during our 2 days. We loved the weather, but our hotel room had no ventilation and it was quite warm for sleeping comfortably. Other than that, it was perfect.
“Wonderful experience”
We had such a wonderful time in Edinburgh and in the Scotsman. Edinburgh in the snow is amazing. Unfortunately, due to the weather we had two flights from Gatwick cancelled. Eventually we got a flight to Glasgow. When we called the Scotsman to tell them we were going to have to check in quite late, they offered to send a chauffeur to pick us up from Glasgow and take us back to the hotel. We continued to experience a similar 'above and beyond' level of service for the rest of stay. We'll certainly be back.
“Edinburgh Break”
Choose this hotel for a central location with easy access to the city centre, our room was airy and well thought out, design wise . The staff were always welcoming and knew how to get around the town and where key places are. The smallish no of rooms make for a quiet hotel no 2 o'clock arrivals with doors slamming etc. Lost count of the places to eat within 5 minutes.
“Would love to stay here again”
We were impressed with the hotel overall, particularly the unobtrusive and very efficient service. Everyone was willing to help. The facilities were excellent, especially the well-equipped gym and relaxing pool area. The room was clean and comfortable, and everything we could want or expect was available.
