“More than you pay for”
While it was out of the City Centre and a bit of walk, it was nice, clean, and the staff was friendly. Got more than I paid for, and the room, while small, had all the basics and the bed was comfortable. I'd not only recommend this hotel but I would stay again myself.
“Very Nice”
The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were wonderful, from helping us with which buses would take us downtown and back, to storing our luggage on check out. Our train didn't leave until late afternoon, and we didn't want to cart our luggage around on our last day of siteseeing. If I have the opportunity to return, I will stay at the Minto Hotel again.

“highly recomend a stay at the minto hotel”
this is a lovely hotel spotless rooms staff are very friendly and cant do enough to help you.The food is wonderful very tasty the 2 for 1 meals are a bargain.Within easy walking distance of attractions (the castle,parlement,shops ect,ect)

“Minto Hotel - great place to stay”
A wonderful stay the hotel staff could not enough for us. The food at breakfast was excellent, and the evening meal very good value, freshly cooked and plenty of it. The hotel is about 2 miles from the center of the city, a number of buses stop right outside. There was a wedding at the hotel whilst we were there - we were not disturbed, and enjoyed a weekend of peace.
“Hotel Minto à Edimbourg”
Bon hôtel, bien situé à distance raisonnable du centre d'Edimbourg. Accueil agréable. Notre chambre était minuscule et sans vue, mais propre, calme et confortable.
“Great gem just a little off the path”
The rates are superb and if you want a clean comfortable room from which to base getting around Edinburgh, this is darn hard to beat! There's free parking but the hotel is only a 5-7 minute bus ride from any of up to 4 buses that run very frequently (we never waited more than 10 minutes); the bus stop almost at the door was very convenient too. With a big breakfast included; this value can't be beat. The bar in the hotel is also very handy and serves up good drinks in a relaxed quiet environment. Now for improvements: can be a little busy and wait longer for breakfast; suggest more staff and someone more experienced than the young man during our stay. Housekeeping was a little on the skimpy side with toiletries and could have done little more cleaning instead of just tidying up. Double beds in this country tend to be two twins put together but this isn't worth complaining about because space is at a premium which is why the room is just a little on the small side. Hey, you're just sleeping here!
“Very decent hotel”
Impressed with their cleanliness and room service. I only thing is the double room is very small even for two people, so that I cannot walk while the another person roaming around in the room.
“Good budget hotel”
For various reasons (none of them caused by the hotel) we stayed in three different rooms over two weeks and they were all just fine. The staff at the front desk were helpful and accommodating. There is a small bar in the hotel which is nothing special, but very welcome after a long day out, especially since it had some outdoor seating. The breakfast staff were cheery, but the food was rather unimaginative. There is limited parking, The hotel's location on a major bus line into the city center and the modest price makes this a good choice for travelers on a budget. I would recommend it to friends and I would stay there again.
