What a fab stay we had at the George hotel, Edingburgh. Staff very friendly, all our requests were met. The room upgrade fulfilled our expectations. The champagne & strawberries dipped in chocolate were to die for. We are definitely going back. The location is perfect for shopping & eating out. Loved it, thanku. Xx

"Great Hotel, Great Value"
We stayed at the Edinburgh Capital Hotel for a short weekend break and we're really pleasantly surprised by the standard of our stay considering the relatively low cost of the room. Compared to other hotels in the area this one is super good value but I don't feel like quality was compromised at all. The staff were so friendly and helpful, assisting with anything they could. We were allowed to check in early and were also able to store our baggage for the day after checkout. Overall I'd say the team were superb. The room was clean, simple but had everything we needed; decent bathroom, lovely big bed and TV etc. The hotel is a bit out the way of the centre but the bus stops just down the road and it's easy and cheap to get into town. Would highly recommend this place for a lovely weekend stay!

"Close to town,a quick bus journey to the centre"
A lovely stay, the staff were really friendly and helpful with finding the right bus routes and where to find the right stops. A beautiful city,i would definately love to do this again, and be more than happy to book a room in this hotel. Clean rooms, really comfy beds.A nice atmosphere. The buses are pretty much a standard £1.50,apart from the airport bus(£4) which is a 5 min walk to the stop,if that even. Its a 15-20 minute bus ride to the Corn Exchange, which is one of the reasons i chose this hotel( the other being the price). I recommend going to the Mary kings close and having the tour to the 17th century street underground.

"High quality, amazing location"
Although I reside in Scotland I needed a hotel to stay over in Edinburgh after attending a gig and having stayed in several other hotels in the city I am always keen to try new ones and this was my first stay at the G & V. I had been before for cocktails but the room was lush and luxurious and that theme was evident throughout the hotel. I got an incredible price via Expedia and the service was excellent with lots of nice features including fast free wifi and a complimentary newspaper in the morning.

Had a 2 night stay at the hotel with breakfast included. The staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The location of the hotel was excellent for sight seeing and most attractions can be reached easily by foot from this hotel. Had an evening meal at the hotel and the food was superb whilst being very reasonably priced great value for money. This was our first time in Scotland and would come back and stay here again. Fantastic 2 days.

We found the hotel very homely and the staff very helpful. It was close to a shopping arcade, which housed many we know high street shops.Livingston North railway station was a taxi ride away. From this station we were able to travel to Edinburgh and Glasgow
