We were in Edinburgh for one night and this was the perfect little spot to stay. It had a cozy feel but was very spacious. We loved the high ceilings! The staff were very nice and helpful. Only complaint would be the shower. It was an odd set up with the half door that allowed water onto the floor. We just laid a towel down to help catch the stray water. Would definitely stay here again.

Close to Old Town and all the historical attractions the the city has. Close to restaurants and to the train station. Room was big enough to fit my group of 4 with ease. Would stay here again.

Good location. Apartment was clean and nice. Good wifi. Nice shower and variety of lights in the room. Walls are thin, meaning could hear other guests easily which wasn’t great.

I had a family room for 4 people for a 2 nights exploring Edinburgh. The rom was tidy and spacious with a little "kitchen unit". Tea/coffee facility with microwave and fridge. Perfect. Also locations is ideal for exploring edinburgh. And price was perfect.

Fantastic break at this hotel. We stayed in the family apartment room and loved it. Very clean and comfortable, with some lovely added extras. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Highly Recommend!
My friends and I had a great stay at the Cairn Hotel! We were in an apartment style room that had everything we could possibly need for our 3 nights (comfortable beds, multiple mirrors, a space heater, etc). We felt safe in the room itself and the location overall is great, only about a 15-20 minute walk from the Royal Mile and Holyrood Palace. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a safe and comfortable stay in Edinburgh with nice and welcoming employees.

Nice 3 bedroomed apartment. However, they made mistakes checking us in which led to multiple transactions from our bank and also our shower for the 3 nts we stayed didn't work. I did not like they physically took a £250 deposit from us rather than hold it (we did not know prior that this would happen) and only refunded upon checking the room when we departed. However, multiple basic rules posted around the apartment made us scared we would not get it back. Luckily we did. The room was basic, it's unserviced, so you get limited towels and cutlery, but it worked for us. Other than this, it's a decent apartment (majorly overpriced for what you get, but that's Edinburgh for you). Lovely staff

we need to take the deposit for all apartments and there was a confirmation sent via email when you booked it, this is returned upon check out, there are rules for the apartments as they are not serviced by our staff and it does state this on all websites, all dishes and cutlery etc must be cleaned by the guests staying

Great stay! My friend and I were seeing a show at the playhouse and this hotel was perfect! Also so close to the centre, great service and lovely quiet room, very comfy great shower, recommend and would stay again!

Area was slightly outside city center. Limited parking. Staff was extremely unhelpful. Did not offer solutions not smile nor help. Room was dated but had smart tv. Big and clean. Basic toilet. Had a minor drainage provlem that required front desk to rectify. Please do not book a stay here if you have alot of luggage. On top of having to stay in a separate building, with multiple steps, we were given a room in the basement, with a very steep flight of stairs. Staff did not give us a room at ground floor despite requesting. Was not helpful at all. Totally marred our experience. Would not stay again.

Dear Guest,we are inside the city centre and only a 10 minute walk from princes street, the room you had booked was what you were given and our toilets are not basic so I'm not sure what you mean by this, unfortunately a room on the ground floor was not possible as they were already taken but if you needed help with your luggage al you had to do was ask a member of staff as we do not have porterage service here,

Honestly the worst place we stayed for a two week trip. The photos when booking were light and bright rooms. Instead we got put in a basement with the only window in the bathroom and that only made it freezing. The front desk staff was less than helpful upon check in. While the listing shares that parking is available the check in staff said “if you’re lucky” you’ll find a spot on the street, otherwise the parking would cost extra. The checkout staff was much more welcoming and friendly but unfortunately that was after a loud sleepless night due to hearing every upper level door close and ever other toilet flush and shower turn on. Close to restaurants but overall would not return and not even in the same building as breakfast or the bar. Not even close to what was expected and an overall disappointment.

the room type you had booked was a small double and this is what was given, if the room was not suitable for you reception would have made an effort to see if you could have been allocated a different room, it also states on all websites that carparking is chargeable

A nice hotel about 10 minutes walk from the train station. On a quiet street but close enough to the busier parts of town if that's what you're looking for. My room looked to have been refurbished recently, or was being well maintained, and was very clean. The breakfast is a standard buffet but was decent. Staff were friendly. All in all, a really nice stay.

Situated near the city centre with restaurants within walking distance or a short taxi tide away. The staff are very helpful and welcoming. The room we had was relatively small which wr knew beforehand. However the Tv is just above bed level at the foot end. This meant the person who sleeps on one side of the double bed had to contort to get pass the foot of the bed when getting up. If they are not careful their back gets caught on the TV. Pethaps having it a bit hogher would prevent this.

Found a disabled parking space directly outside the hotel. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Slept very well and had a hearty breakfast. We had trouble with air in the water system but nothing else to say.

Good for business trip
Friendly staff, always welcome as I was travelling on my own. Room fairly small but high ceilings so didn't feel claustrophobic. It did smell a bit musty when I first went in, but was too tired to say anything to staff. Next morning when running the sink taps, smell was a lot stronger, my guess is that previous guest smoked in the bathroom. I was only staying one night so hotel didn't have chance to rectify and I wouldn't want to give the helpful staff a bad review on what I am assuming is an unfortunate one-off due to the bad behaviour of previous guest. Location was great - walkable from Edinburgh Waverley and pubs and takeaways nearby. I think it can be a lively area but I was staying mid week in October and wasn't disturbed by any noise.

Very central, but it did say small double and it certainly was - 8 inches from bottom bed to wall. I was there for work and needed a small table to work but not possible. Nice fresh bathroom. Breakfast room good with nice outside area for good weather.

Everything was fine except the room was a bit small. There was under 1.5 feet from end of bed and wall, and the wall mounted TV took up part of that space. Very awkward for second person to get to their side of bed.
