“hotel in renovation”

We stayed in older rooms - worn fixtures, etc., but clean & bed was comfortable. Bed coverings were fine. The kindness and friendliness of the staff more than made up for the lack of "newness" and the price was great.

“A good value.”

Hotel was under some construction. But it did not affect the quality of my room or the noise. It is an older hotel, but my room was clean. My room was pretty quiet.

“OK for a night”

The hotel is located in a shopping/dining area, so it was easy to find places to go. It's also very accessible to UW-Eau Claire. There was a large group of unsupervised children in the hotel the night we stayed which kept us out of the pool and other public areas. The weekend breakfast doesn't begin until 7 AM, which was not publicized except when we asked. If you need to get on the road early, you'll have to go to one of the nearby fast food places.

“Multiple problems”

Clerk at front desk was rude and unhelpful, which was odd because I stayed here one other time recently and the front desk staff was great. The bathroom ceiling dripped water. Disgusting!

“Damaged by fire and poor internet access”

The front of the hotel is under construction due to fire. There is also extensive road work going on right in front of the hotel. Their fitness room and hot tub are both out of order (as of 8/17/08). The network and internet connectivity were so poor, I had to go to a different hotel just so I could check my email. Room had a musty smell. Bathroom counter top was chipped in multiple spots. Staff was very friendly though.
